Re: Laptop vs Netbook????
I have both a laptop and a netbook. My opinion is laptops are better. It sounds like it'll be your everyday computer. I like the smallness of a netbook but trying to do stuff on a 10"in screen isn't as fun as the commercials say they are. Laptops are a bit more money but in my case it was a $50 difference. I have an acer aspire for my laptop and that cost $350 and I have an hp mini that one cost $300. I got both at bestbuy.
*If you get a new one with windows 7 you'll have to buy microsoft works if want word, excel, powerpoint and all that. Im still trying to find a deal on that. hth :)
Back after a brief hiatus and trying to get life back on track. Saving up for a new used car $0/$5000

Re: Laptop vs Netbook????
I have a 19" HP laptop and an 10" EEE PC. I use my eee pc 90% of the time and my 19" laptop feels huge now. It gets hot and the battery life is less than 4 hours. I can take my eee pc in a sleeve without the charge cable for the days I want to have a pc with me, the battery life is double. It's light, absolutely mobile, perfect. Best PC I've owned. A disadvantage is that I can't really use the netbook on my lap because it's so small, I keep it propped up next to me on a laptop cushion from Best Buy. I upgraded my ram from 1gb to 2gb using a tutorial on Amazon for $30 and run Windows 7 very well.
BUT with BF soon, you can score a very nice laptop for about the same price as a netbook, so if there's any compromise at all, go with the laptop. Also my boyfriend doesn't like my netbook because his fingers hit the wrong keys. I don't have that problem at all. I'd have him try one in store if possible. HTH

Re: Laptop vs Netbook????
i had an HP mini netbook while my laptop was in the shop.
I have big hands, and small eyes (theres a picture for ya!)
I loved it for................ 2 seconds. It runs slow, i couldnt have multiple windows open (come on who gets on HCW and only has a window open!?!?)
I always have atleast 5 between HCW and Facebook and ebay...
yea its light and cute and whatever else the commercial claims but its good for doing this and this only
CHECKING EMAIL
i'm pretty hard on computers. Use them to their full extent. I would NEVER buy a mini book EVER.
I have 2 laptops a toshiba satalite and a acer something or other.
Toshiba is more expensive but well worth the money.
Acer is a good pc, but mine isn't even a year old and i'm having touch pad issues.
BF ads (most of them) are out and there are some good deals on a few good laptops
