Looking for a cheap laptop

My daughter has not asked for much for christmas. She wants some bump-its and I thought a laptop would be nice. If I find a good deal before Black Friday should I get it now or wait? Should I order online? Where would be the best place to go?

That's what I've got and love it. I call it my "baby laptop" It is just like a regular laptop, only smaller, and no dvd/cd player so she couldn't watch movies on it.

I looked and walmart has one for $288 .Should I wait to see if there will be some better sales before buying?

Wal mart had a great deal this morning on HP laptop, 15 inch screen 3GB for $298, regular price was 500 something. It was the same price as the cheapest netbook they had there. Our wal mart only had 10 and sold out but I heard some wal marts were carrying about 50 or them. It would be worth checking out!! Good luck

Walmart had an acer aspire on 348.00. It has windows 7 OS. Not to shabby for a light weight notebook. I picked one up today as my Dell went loopy a few months back. Early christmas present for me.

You might find some cheaper prices as BF draws closer or keep an eye on Walmart.com for thier Saturday Super Sales until BF. You might find a good deal but be prepared to fight crowds. Our Walmarts had only 10-20 of those 298.00 HP's and lines started to form last night for them People with kids cannot compete.

Black Friday Office Max has an Acer Aspire one netbook for $149.99 Kmart has a dellstar for $129 (but i heard it's not a good brand) and Office Depot and Bestbuy are selling the Acer Aspire One netbooks for $199 HTH

my daughter has the 298 laptop and it's awesome. It's a littlle big, and heavy so not as portable as lighter laptops. If this one has the same memory, you don't need to add anything, but it doesn't come with microsoft so you'd have to buy that or download open office.

Netbooks are cool but nowheres near as good as laptops. I always get my computers from QVC. Great deals, and they let you make payments! I don't have a CC with them, I just use my bank debit card. Plus they ship super fast. They list it as being 10 days but I usually get it within 2 days. That may be from Toshiba though (Im a Toshiba junkie won't use anything else lol)
