The Strangest Thing That Ever Happened To Me On Halloween....

    Share your strange stories here!

Reading some of the other threads got me thinking about all of the strange experiences I've had on Halloween as a child and teenager, but this one takes the cake!

In the town I grew up in, there was this BEAUTIFUL old house that didn't really seem to fit in with the other houses around it. Although it was fairly close to the road, you could barely see the house because there were so many trees and bushes around it.

Every year we went to this house with my mom, where a lady in her 40's and dressed in a nurse's costume would give us not only a full sized candy bar, but a KING SIZED candy bar of our choice.

The first year that I went out without my mom, I was 10 and my 13 year old sister and her friend were taking me. We went to the house and knocked.

Almost immediately, the door flew open and there was an old, old woman (probably over 100 years old), with long white hair sticking out everywhere. She was naked, except for a completely see through white sheet that was drapped around her shoulders. As soon as she saw us in our costumes, she started screaming! We were all frozen with fear.

Suddenly, the lady in the nurse "costume" was there with her arms around the lady, pulling her away from the door. Before she closed the door, she told us, "I'm sorry, girls, I don't know how she even got out of bed!" She then gave us all homemade popcorn balls, that she referred to as a "special treat," instead of the normal candy bar.

As soon as the door was closed, we all looked at each other, started screaming our heads off, and ran away from the house, my sister and I throwing the popcorn balls into their bushes.

We ran half the way home, then stopped, gasping for breath and my sister's friend asked, "Why did you throw the popcorn balls?" My sister and I both screamed, "Poison!" My sisters friend started screaming again and threw her's as hard as she could.

We were sure we had discovered something that we shouldn't have and they were trying to get rid of us with poisoned popcorn balls. Especially after we found out that all of our other friends had been given King Sized candy bars, like normal.

We never went back to that house and to this day, I still get the chills when I think about that old woman.

    I have two favorites:
The time we had to put Halloween off one day for SNOW! YES, the TV and radio announced that Halloween will be held tomorrow! I had my little 3 year old nephew and we let him pee in the snow... I still remember the kids singing " pleeeeaaaaasssssssse dooooooont eaaaatttt the yyyyyyeeeeelllllloooowwww snoooooowwwww!"

Also, one time We went to a house known for the pranks it pulls.... we walked up to the house, and they had a Scarecrow type "dead old man" at the bottom of their front steps... I even tripped over it, and it felt like a stuffed doll..... However, when we left, the " lifeless doll" reached up and grabbed my ankle!!!! Scared us all!

I went to a bar with some friends for a costume party. I was dressed as a banshee and my one friend a a mummy.
Anyway, we took off our shoes to go dance (this was a common practice for us)
So, the driver got interested in a guy "said" she'd asked us if we were riding home w/ her...I wasn't drinking but I remember no such query. So, we go to leave and she's gone, went to put on my shoes and could only find one. It's cold wet and rainy, I have one shoe. So, my buddy took of some of her "wrappings" and I wrapped my foot double d my sock on that foot...and we set off for home.
Well, we didn't get out of the parking lot when a good samaritan in the for of one our male cohorts (who's also on foot) offers me a ride...on his back. Yep, he carried me 3 miles home on his back!!! However, his buddy did not offer the same to my friend. She still growls about it to this day.

Snow on Halloween; that's crazy! (We rarely get snow here at all- although we seem to be getting it more and more as the years go by) LOL @ the yellow snow!

One year as a kid, my sister hid in our leaf graveyard (we had tombstones and piles of leaves to look like they were graves)- she got under a pile of leaves and jumped out when I walked by. I peed my pants. (I was probably 5.) Good thing we didn't have snow or she'd have been singing, "pleeeeaaaaasssssssse dooooooont eaaaatttt the yyyyyyeeeeelllllloooowwww snoooooowwwww!"

    Hahaha! Too funny!

There are so many things in life where, when they are happening, they are annoying, scary, or whatever, but they are always the things that you really remember and look back on with good memories... well, except your friend!
