What did you Love/Hate to get in your candy bag?

I was thinking about Trick or Treating when I was a kid. Remember spreading out your loot and seeing what you got? Trading with your friends? Loved that! What candies did you prize most? Which ones left you groaning?

I found some lists online of worst Halloween treats to get. People were asked what is the worst thing you got in your bag. Here's what made the list: Apples, Raisins, Candy Corn, Hard Candy, Good n Plenty, Necco Wafers, Smarties, Dum Dums, Gum, Wax Lips/Vampire Teeth, Pencils, Microwave Popcorn, Granola Bars, Toothbrush, Cheap chocolate like Palmer.

This is from my perspective when I was a child: Anything chocolate was good! Cheap chocolate...yuck! Remember those Sixlets? Gross! I never liked anything gummy: Swedish Fish or Dots, blech! Personally I like raisins, candy corn, Smarties, and Necco Wafers. Really bad things were Popcorn balls (I hated those things), the old guy who wrapped 5 pennies in foil (What can I do with 5c?), people who gave out "old people candy" like Starlite Mints and other candies that my grandma kept in a dish on the end table, Bible tracts, and anyone who handed you one stinking little Dum Dum or Smartie.

The candy I didnt like is the same as the list you posted mostly but there were these ones in orange and black wrappers... they dont have writing on them but they are like a taffy but are suppose to be peanut butter or something... HATE those things whatever they are!

Fav to me aside from reg candy bars like Reeses ect would have to be looking for the Sugar Daddys and Sugar Babies... loved seeing those!

Loved: Hersheys with almonds, 3 Muskateers, Milky Ways

Hated: Mary Janes & Candy Corn & yeah, those nasty orange & black things

omg, I LOVED those orange and black things...even used to search for those in my dd's bag (since it is not a sealed candy she was not allowed to eat it) and mary janes are awesome too.

I don't eat a lot of candy but if I indulge it will be on ..

Love: Reeses & anything w/ coconut .. Almond Joy or Mounds .. yum!

Dislike: cheap chewy candy ..

As a kid... I hated smarties and hard candy (what kid gets excited over a pepermint?)

As an adult... I fear Peanut ANYTHING.. reeses, snickers, etc... since my DD is allergic, it makes for a scary night (pun inteneded!)

I personally loved getting homemade popcorn balls. Can't get that now without fear of some freak putting something in them. And you can't give them out cuz noone will eat them, because of all the freaks. And homemade chocolate chip cookies. We had this one lady that made the best tasting cookies she'd give you two in one of those little paper halloween bags.
I also loved those peanut butter taffy things in the orange and black waxed paper. Dip n Sticks were also great to find in your bag and those wax coke bottles with the supposed coke inside.
Hated the gummy things because they were tough and got so stuck in your teeth and tasted like crap. Hated getting sweettarts seemed like that was the cheapest thing to give.
Honestly, why do people give out bible tracks on Halloween in kids candy bags? Do they really think that someone is going to read them and go hey I think I'll become a Christian today? Doubt it. Nice thought but I think their energy would be better spent elsewhere. I never got one, but I know that my kids did 1 year.

I loved when I got full size candy bars. I also loved milky ways, kit kats, 3 musketeers, and when people gave out little bags full of candy.

I didn't like hard candies, dum dums, good n plenty, mike and ike, sweet tarts.

Disliked Brach's Butterscotch and those hard strawberry flavored candies with like a juicy middle...like these




I also disliked anything orange or grape flavored.

My favorites were and still are Reses's peanut butter cups, milky ways, and mounds or almond joy.
