Default Re: What are you giving trick or treaters this year?

Full size candy bars, mini candy bars, animal crackers for the wee little goblins, tootsie pops and if I run out I'll raid the snack bin.
All of this I got free or super cheap. We are in a new neighborhood so I don't know how much traffic we'll get cuz it's gated.

One year I gave out glow necklaces. Bought them at a craft store. Michael's has a 15 pack of glow bracelets for $1. The necklaces went over well. It was a different thing to give out and went well with the night time Trick or Treating. Kids loved them! I've given out pencils too and of course candy!

I've got a mixture of mentos (free) and about 50-60 snickers/milky way/twix candy bars (also free, like Anaj said from cvs/ecb deal)

We're going to my SILs moms house to trick or treat in their neighborhood, so combined with what they bought we'll hopefully we'll have enough. And I know this is bad, but I'll probably take whatever candy the kids get from their school parties and dump it in the bucket before we leave.

This is an awesome idea! Not only because it's inexpensive, but also because it's SAFE! (not just candy wise, and all the weirdo's out there but because it draws attention to kiddos who wear black costumes in the night!)

I'll be snagging this idea and going to Michaels!

If you have a Dollar Tree nearby you can get glow necklaces, bracelets and even tridents and swords. They come in various count pkgs. but each pkg. is only $1. They also have crayons, activity books, stickers and even name brand candy. But remember, the Dollar Tree doesn't accept coupons.

They also have foam tombstones and a witch's cauldren to hold your treats.

I give fun size candy and candy bars ,( mini bags of chips...9Frito Lay has the cheese curls and Doritos )out this time of the year. I get some from my brother.... (he works for Frito Lay) who gives me a discount on them. The kids loved them last year. I have also given the mini bags of popcorn, fruit roll ups, and the candy corn that has a Bible verse on them. I have even given out kids band-aids before..after the candy runs out. I live in a small rural area but.. I get tons of kids at my house.....even High school kids that came when they were little still come by. We know everyone where we live. It's really nice. :july4th7:

Halloween pencils that I used as fillers recently... gum, popcorn balls (free) and some leftover candy from last year that is not chocolate so we didn't break into it...

We are not going to be home for halloween. We will be at the hunting club all weekend. This would have been the first time we would have been able to give out candy because before we did not have neighbors. I sure hope my house does not get egged.
