Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
well this year for xmas I am putting together either travel bags (for those of my family who travel constantely (which is great because most of the bag will have free items) or a movie basket... The movie basket will have 2 drinks, 2 bags of pop corn, 1 dvd (black friday for $3-4) or a blockbuster GC (free from my points at National City) and then it will either be in a christmas container or some type of popcorn bucket with some candy.

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
you'll need-
glitter pen, fabric paint or elmers glue and glitter...
solid color ball ornament
empty egg carton
using any of the above ( the fabric paint gives a 3D look)-
place ball ( depending on what you decide to wright will depend on the size of the ball...the bigger the ball the more you can get on it LOL) on the empty egg carton so it won't roll...then "personalize" you can put a name on one side and the year on the other...or a simple Merry Christmas..or Baby's First...ect..
or you can roll the whole thing in glitter and then add a name with fabric paint later...

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
I posted this in this thread--page 3
http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...-shopping.html
but to keep things simple I'll put it here too--
here's a fairly cheap gift idea-great for co-workers (that's what I did with it), teachers, mailman ect...
go to the thrift shop or dollar store and buy large coffee mugs or soup mugs...(ideally with snowmen on them LOL)
all you need beside the mug-
*
1 individual pack hot chocolate mix
*
3 Hershey's chocolate kisses
*
10-15 mini-marshmallows
*
1 Candy Cane
then print out the little poem on card stock, heavy paper, construction paper..whatever..
Snowman Soup
Was told you've been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick!
or you can go here to get some cute labels to print-

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
I've made non-toxic household cleaners for a couple of relatives who have small children and/or pets. I saved some spray bottles from other non-toxic cleaners I used, rinsed them very well, then mixed up my own (using "recipes" I've gotten from a friend and at the natural foods store; there are also lots of them online). I made a little gift basket with these and sponges, etc. Most of the ingredients needed are very cheap--vinegar, baking soda, etc., so these are nice yet inexpensive gifts!

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
Another good idea is febreeze noticeable are 5.97 at walmarts and there is a 5.00 off in the last pg insert. .97 for some nice air freshener, my coworkers loved the flameless candle last year. My mom was the one who gave me this idea. I was buying one of those ziploc vaccum thing and she said I would love one. So I bought it 3.68 - 1.00 coupon today, so 2.68 total. My brother did pasta "baskets", a strainer from dollar tree, Spaghetti sauce, pasta, sparkling cinder, and dollar tree champ flutes less than $7 a couple. I loved mine.

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
Son in law going to Iraq wanted soft sheets and fuzzy soft blanket. Found twin sheets at target @ 3.48 each. 400 thread count and that way I could splurge on the blanket 19.99 @ jc penney with a 10.00 off coupon. Not bad. This year is total practicality.

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
We have an apple tree down the road from our house that has yielded us TONS of apples. My husband and I have been making apple butter, along with salsa from the tomatoes and peppers in our garden. Both of these should make great gifts!

Re: Cheap Christmas Gift Ideas?
I am making personalized notebooks/journals for all of the females in the family. I bought a bunch of the compisition notebooks (the ones with the thick card board covers) for 12 cents each at Target on clearance a couple of week ago. Then I will just dig into my massive scrapbooking stash and design all the covers and backs to each person's individual style or likes. Grandmas will get one with pictures of the kids on the front too.
