Default Re: Any pics of stockpile-composed Gift Baskets? Need creative inspiration...

The Christmas Bizarre @ the Church is Sat December 5th so I thought I should get started on making my Gift baskets. Tell me what you think about this one. It has 4 different Glade products all of the same scent. I got the glade products for free from Target for doing there promo. You can read my target post for more info on that. I purchased the Bucket @ Target for $1. I bought a bunch of them using the Target gift cards I earned from doing the Glade deal. The only real true OOP expense I have Is the cello wrap which I purchased @ the $1. 1 roll will make 2 of these baskets. Retail it would cost someone $11.50 to purchase the items and make this gift. I was thinking about selling them for $6 each. Do you think people will buy them. I think I would have before my frugal days. I'm going to make a little sign for my table that says's think about the people who you may want to give a little something too, like a teacher, mail man, hairdresser. I do need to buy some ribbon. I stole that pink one out of Jess's room.

What do you think about this one. The tub again was $1 @ Target. I also bought the cookie cutters, Roller pin and the spatula's there. I thought they were $1 each but they were really $2.50 each. Ouch. I did notice that the $1 store has similar ones for $1 each. This basket would retail @ about $12.50. However I was thinking about selling it for $6.

I'm really looking for some ideas here. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

I really like your baskets, I think $6 is a fair price to pay .I was planning on making gift baskets but since I just started using coupons I figured next year I would have a lot more stock and could make great baskets.

They would make great gifts sets to sell at a yard sale or something like that.

To fill in the bottom of my baskets, I wrapped plactis grocery bags in tissue paper. It worked well...

I promised everyone in a post a while back that I would post the gift baskets that I gave this year for Christmas. Now that I am pretty sure that everyone has opened them, I can show you all. First, I bought a number of these gift baskets at CVS a week or so after Christmas last year at 90% off! I liked them because not only will they be the containers for the gifts but since most of these gifts were shipped to the East Coast, the baskets will make great catch alls for hats, scarves and mittens in their closets. But they can be used to corral almost anything to neaten a closet.

Then after every holiday this past year I bought Holiday plates, napkins,

towels, candles,

ornaments, Christmas tape

etc. at 50% - 90% off. Most of what I got was 50% off since that is when I found the best selection.

Put all of the items in the gift basket, starting with New Year's items first and Christmas last from front to back in the basket.

Then I shrink wrapped all with the shrink wrap that I purchased at the Dollar Tree. Lastly , I put on a wonderful large bow with bells that I purchased at 90% off last Christmas! So the recipients have an ALL YEAR ROUND HOLIDAY BASKET they can enjoy and even if family can't be together on holidays they will know your thoughts are with them!

I made these baskets for relatives last year. They loved them!

For Christmas I am doing home made gift baskets, I am making the "basket" out of old records and melting them into bowls and filling it with homemade soap, body wash, lotion, bath salts, candles and a more personal home made gift for each person, like a bra purse for my friend that has been bothering me for one for a year, at least! Or some cakes in mug for my friends away at college, stuff like that, plus it's cheap, lol.

Okay, I am not using the bra purse as the basket, I am putting it IN the basket, lol.

Here is a picture of a one:

Tell me what you think.
