    CHAT Shopping List ~ 2009

So what's on your shopping list this year?

I still need to go through my stockpile & see what I have in the way of gifts. I know I have a ton for kids but not sure what all I have adult wise. I know I have gift sets ( thanks CVS ) & items to make gift baskets but not sure what else. More likely than not 90%+ of my shopping is done with the exception of my DS, DIL & DGS.

I need Walmart to have a great sale on the Little Tykes play kitchen. It's $45 right now, but I'm hoping they have a good sale on black friday!
I also need to pick up something for a 1 year old boy and I have NO idea what to get!

The good thing about the younger kids is they are so easy to please. Most will enjoy just about any age appropriate gift.

I have always leaned toward educational toys starting as young as possible. I am so out of touch with toys for real young ones though as my DGS is now 11 & the youngest in the immediate family is 5 ( I think ).

This year we are going CHEAP! I WILL NOT buy anything with batteries this year. My kids don't play with them long enough to run the batteries down anyways. I have a goal to buy anything that they have to use their imagination with. Blocks, legos, dolls, pop beads, shopping cart with food, cash register, barn set, etc. I feel a lot of kids don't have much of an imagination anymore because of all the high tech toys. Just my opinion and so I trying something new for us. Hopefully they will play with their toys longer then 2 hours.

This is tough for me, because we are driving 1200 miles back to Wisconsin. My daughter is graduating from college. So at least I will see them all! I was thinking of taking my coupon box and going shopping with them! I know the daughter would be all for this, but not sure about the 2 boys (ok now men).
Or they will have to accept coal in their stocking, cause I don't have a moving van to get all the stuff back that I have accumulated.
They ALL want free razors tho! LMAO

Dh and I make soaps/lotions/lip balms/other bath stuffs as a hobby, so a hefty majority of the women (and some of the men) in our family will get gift sets of our homemade bath stuff. For the rest, I'm thinking goodies in a jar (like cookie mixes) or homemade cookies/brownies. We're only really buying stuff for the immediate family and the only kids included in that (until ours gets here next year) are teenagers.

One thing I'm really excited about, though, is a shirt my sister and I are going to have printed for my mom when we find out if I'm having a boy or girl in November. It'll say "Nanny's Gray Hares" and have 3 gray bunnies on it, 2 will be my nephews and one will be our baby, with their names.

I agree. My boys are 21, 17 and 14. They won't be getting alot, but what they get will be more expensive. Oh for the days when a Power Ranger and a coloring book made them happy!

I got enough for stocking stuffers & gifts baskets for friends.

but my Family is growing up so the gifts get more $$, one wants a Lap top, so that be the only gift he will get besides stocking stuffers and the little stuff.
The other 2 are not sure yet what they want. ... so waiting on them.

Mind you I put a LOT of stuff in Stocking stuffers ...so they most of the time get more exited about the stocking then the real gift lol

We have always done this with our daughter. I think the only electronic toy we bought here was a Mozart cube when she was a baby. She actually was just humming the Indiana Jones theme while playing.
