Our family makes about 100 batches of fudge (Recipe) each year and package it in Christmas Ziploc containers. We slap a pretty bow on the top and pass them out to neighbors, teachers, friends and family.
There's nothing like the smell of a kitchen during the Holidays with all the baking & cooking taking place. Recipies that have been handed down from generation to generation or a new one that you've incorporated into your own Holiday Tradition; old or new - we look forward to reading all about your favorite recipes.
Thanks for sharing ~ Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

This is a super simple fruit salad that my husband's family had made for years for Christmas. Like many family favorites there is no real recipe and each person who makes it puts in different proportions, but I will try to create a recipe below. My FIL makes it by the bushelful each year. And our family has it for Christmas breakfast along with cinnamon rolls that my grandfather used to make.
Christmas Sunrise Citrus Salad
Serves 8
Mix the following in a bowl:
2 - grapefruits
4 - oranges (Florida juice are best)
4 - tangerines
4 - tangelos
Cut citrus fruit in half and cut out sections. Squeeze empty peels to get every drop of juice. Cover well--putting plastic wrap touching the fruit will help preserve more of the vitamin C. Chill overnight or a couple of hours.
4 - bananas sliced (add about 30 to 60 minutes before serving)
My hubby used to sprinkle sugar on his--we all eat it plain.
While preparing this there is a wonderful fragrance, though not like the aroma of something baking, it still smells like Christmas to me.
We love Cheeseball here
Shaw Family Yummy Cheeseball
2 bricks of Philly Cream Cheese
1 c of shredded cheddar
several dashes of Worcestershire sauce
4 Tbs of dried onion
2 tsp of garlic salt
1 pkg of Beef shredded
Crushed pecans to cover if you like
Mix all the ingredients in, and then roll into a ball. Roll ball into nuts if you like.
Chill in fridge for several hours or freeze!!! Yummy!
tooo cute!!
This is my favorite because the are soft.
Sugar Cookies
1cup Soft Butter
2cups Sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
4 cups Flour
2 Tsp. Vanilla
Mix the ingredients together slowly adding the flour til mixed well.
Drop spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar then Bake at 350 degrees untill lightly brown.
Enjoy they are the BEST sugar cookies
