I know it's still early, but here's what I will be looking for when the Black Friday ads come out:

A new digital camera (if I can find an AWESOME deal on a really good one!)

Rock Band or Guitar Hero for XBox 360

XBox 360 games (DH got an XBox 360 for Christmas last year.)

Nintendo DS games (I got a DS for Christmas last year.)

    Various TV series on DVD

Action figures (DS #1 will be five soon and is really into super heroes right now.)

Star Wars Lego stuff or regular Lego stuff (DS #1 recently discovered Star Wars when he saw Daddy playing Lego Star Wars on the XBox. He's even going to be a Jedi for Halloween.)

Board games (DS #1 is old enough to start playing some games with us.)

Books/toys/clothes for DS #2 (This'll be his first Christmas!)

I don't know what our extended family wants for Christmas yet, but I guess I'd better find out soon!

If you go to GuitarHeroStore.com - The Official Store for Guitar Hero, DJ Hero and Band Hero and sign up for their "specials" I got guitar hero with a game and the guitar for around $30 and free shipping last year. Red Octane is the maker of guitar hero. But they had some great deals last year. They are usually only good for a few hours up to a few days, but they give you a little notice as to when and what the sale will be. Hope it helps.

TV series on DVD (Gilmore Girls, NCIS, Smallville)
Disney movies - last year WM had several for $10 each with bonus gifts!
Mega Blocks for DD. I saw pink and purple ones last year, but she was too little.
a new DVD player or VHS/DVD combo for the playroom
Thomas the Train playsets for DS. I loved the $10 sets last year!

Sort list this year. I've been buying for this Christmas since Dec. 26 of last year! ;)

We have to find our DS some kind of train set. He is all about trains right now. Not sure if I want to pay the extra money for Thomas or get him the GeoTrax one...have to see which is best deal I guess.

Last year we got the best set I've seen for $10 or $15 at Walmart. It had a remote control Thomas and lots of track and extras. It also had a bonus Harold the Helicopter. It was the train yard set. The shed was flimsy, but the rest of it was great! I'm hoping for a similar deal this year so we can expand his playset. DS is actually playing with it right now.

Sorry to to take over the thread, but I wanted to give my experience.

My son has loved trains since he was two. Have you looked into the wooden ones? I know there is a Thomas the Train wooden set that is very expensive but Toys R Us, Taget and Walmart all make a store brand set that fits all Thomas the Train accessories. We started when he was two and for every birthday and holiday, family and friends would get him something to go with the train. We would find pieces here and there at yard sales and consignment stores and the wooden sets would always fit together. He probably has over 1,000 different pieces now.

He is almost eight and still plays with those train pieces. He makes a different train each time and his two year old sister is starting to play with them now too.

I was never a big fan of the plastic trains because the ends would break.

I too have been shopping since Dec 26th. I hit both Target clearance sales so the kids are almost taken care of. I would like to get a few Wii games and a kitchen set for DD. I also would like to find a TV/DVD set for my son.

Gosh, you guys are good....I have no idea and probably won't until I see the ads

I'll also have to wait for DD to make her Christmas list. I don't have very many to buy for this year, so it won't be alot of work!

this year im gonna try REAL hard not to buy toys lol. they have way too many toys as it is, they dont need more. im hoping on some great dvd deals from walmart and target, and hopefully get a couple cheap tvs and dvd players so they can each have one in their room. and depending on sales, nintendo DS games for dd12 and me lol, and xbox 360 or ps3 games for dh (he just got one, i dont know which one it is lol). id also like a new camera since i broke the one dh got me a couple years ago somehow, but i dont think thats in the budget this year.

extended family...ugh...i dont even wanna think about that.
