I agree, but I love to bake period not just during the Holidays :)
There's nothing like the smell of a kitchen during the Holidays with all the baking & cooking taking place. Recipies that have been handed down from generation to generation or a new one that you've incorporated into your own Holiday Tradition; old or new - we look forward to reading all about your favorite recipes.

Mom of 3 Teenager's
I love chocolate cherry chunk cookies! I haven't made them for a really long time. Pretty much cookie dough with melted chocolate chips in it to turn the dough dark, maybe some walnuts in the mix, a maraschino cherry on top, and then melted chocolate drizzled on top. So yummy!
We have Christmas Breakfast every year. My parents go all out with every "traditional" basic breakfast food imaginable-- eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, etc...
My siblings and I each bring an additional dish to add to the "feast"... mine being hashbrown casserole. It's basically the same as what you can get at Cracker Barrel, but I found it in an old cookbook and modified it to suit us. Enjoy!
Hashbrown Casserole
2 pounds frozen shredded hashbrowns*
16 oz sour cream
1 can cream of ______ soup
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) melted butter or margarine
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4- 1/2 cup chopped onion (or rehydrated minced onion)
2 cups crushed Ritz crackers
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
*FYI- as with so many things, package size has shrunk on these. As long as it's close to 2 lbs, it's fine!*
Pour frozen hashbrowns into large mixing bowl and break up any chunks, if needed. In small bowl, mix all other ingredients (except for crackers and 1/4 cup butter), then add to hashbrowns, mixing well. Spoon into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan, spreading evenly. Mix topping and sprinkle generously on top of casserole. Bake 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until hot all the way thru (check by sticking fork into middle of casserole then checking fork for heat).
(I assemble this the night before baking and refrigerate. Since I use a metal pan, one hour before serving time, I can take it straight from fridge to oven and bake as usual! If it gets done too early, wrap it in towels to keep warm. This rewarms beautifully and freezes well, too!)

Check out my avatar-- my sweet tortie Annie is not fond of cameras, so this is an online look-a-like! Ain't she a cutie?
I received a bunch of recipies in an email the other day & thought I'ld share some of them
