    Christmas Nifty Little Gift Ideas With A Snazzy Saying ~ 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

    Packaged treats

Two advantages to packaged treats: You don't have to bake or cook, and the food can be saved until the holiday feeding frenzy is over. A witty verse or tag line makes the gift seem more special.

    1. Put felt reindeer ears and nose on a box of Whoppers candy: "Have a 'whopper' of a Christmas!"
    2. Hershey's Kisses in a wire whisk: "We 'whisk' you a merry 'kiss'-mas."
    3. Bubble gum: "May your holidays 'bubble' over with fun!"
    4. A bag of nuts and a dozen doughnuts: "Sometimes you feel like a nut; sometimes you doughnut!"
    5. Favorite spice mix: "Seasoned greetings
    6. A bag of M&Ms: "Have a Merry & Marvelous holiday!"
    7. Jolly Ranchers: "Have a holly, jolly Christmas!"
    8. Mousse or pudding mix: "Merry Christmousse!"
    9. Packs of gum: "By gum, you're a great neighbor!"
    10. Wrapped candies on a felt runner to hang on the wall. Each day a piece of candy can be taken off to eat as a Christmas countdown.
    11. Giant-size candy bars: Remove the paper wrapper, and make your own personalized one.
    12. A bag of gummy bugs: "Bah humbug! Merry Christmas anyway."
    13. A box of brownie mix: "Roses are red, Christmas is sweet, I'm all stressed out, so make your own darn treat!"
    14. Animal cookies: "This place would be a zoo without you!"
    15. Caramels or candy: "We've been so busy running around, life is hectic sad it sounds. Yet we wanted to make you something dandy, so here's this year's version of homemade candy!"
    16. 100 Grand candy bar: "Your friendship is worth a million bucks, but we can only afford this much!"
    17. Gummy frogs: "Hoping you have a toadily fun holiday!
    18. Boxes of Ho Hos and Ding Dongs: "Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas from the Ding Dongs next door!"
    19. Packaged cookies: "Homemade cookies would be so fine, but these are so much better than mine!"

    Savory snacks

Some non-sweet munchies are welcome to keep sugar overload to a minimum.

    1. Bags of Chex Mix: "Santa always 'chex' his list . . . "
    2. Bread sticks: "We knead your friendship!"
    3. A loaf of bread: "We're just loafing around and wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas!"
    4. Frozen rolls: "Here's a little holiday treat. Rise and bake, and then just eat!"
    5. Popcorn: "We're 'popping' by with a holiday hi!" or "It may sound corny, but Merry Christmas!"
    6. Veggies and dip: "Dip into the holidays and a healthy New Year!"
    7. Cheese with a grater: "To a grate neighbor, from your cheesy friends."
    8. Frozen or ready-to-bake pizza: "Warm up to a wonderful holiday season 'topped' with Christmas cheer!"

    Drink and be merry

    1. Root beer: "Have a rootin' tootin' Christmas!"
    2. Microwave popcorn and 2-liter bottle of soda: "Pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a good friend you is!"
    3. Sprite: "May your Christmas be merry and 'Sprite!' "
    4. Any soda pop: "We're 'soda-lighted' to have you as our friends!"
    5. Juice pitcher filled with candy canes: "We pitcher you raising a little 'cane' during the holidays."
    6. Mountain Dew: " 'Dew' you know we want you to have a merry Christmas? Well, we 'Dew."

    Homemade sweets

    1. Fudge sauce or caramel sauce in a clear, deli-type container.
    2. Pretzels or Ritz crackers dipped in melted chocolate, with 5-6 drops of mint oil added per cup of chocolate, and a tag that reads: "We 'mint' to wish you a happy holiday!"
    3. White divinity with a tag that says: "Have a white Christmas!"
    4. A loaf of quick bread: "No matter how you slice it, you're a great neighbor!"
    5. Frozen cookie dough with cookie cutters: "Here's a little extra 'dough' for Christmas."
    6. Jar of jam: "Hoping your Christmas is 'jam' packed with cheer."
    7. Homemade frozen rolls: "Warm fresh rolls just for you. Top with butter, that's all you do! Warm greetings to you"

    Fruit

    1. Oranges: " 'Orange' you glad we're friends?" Merry Christmas!
    2. Apples: "You're so apple-ing," or "You're the apple of my eye!"
    3. Bananas: "If we could choose our friends, and we searched the whole world through, we'd go 'bananas' trying to find a better bunch than you!"
    4. Fruit basket: "When you feel like a basket case, remember to slow down and enjoy the holidays!"

    Non-food gifts

Some people would rather forget about food and give something to use in the kitchen.

    1. A laminated, credit card-size phone list of everyone in the neighborhood to keep for emergencies.
    2. A gift certificate to a restaurant or food store: (If you know the proprietors, it's a two-way gift — you're helping their businesses as well.)
    3. Paper towels: "Blot out your troubles; 'absorb' the Christmas spirit!"
    4. A box of long-handled matches: "To our matchless friends."
    5. Wooden spoon with a baking mix: "Not a creature was 'stirring' . . ."
    6. A set of oven mitts or hot pads: "We have to ad-mitt, you're a great neighbor!" or "Merry Christmas, from our pad to yours!"
    7. Measuring cup or spoons: "Wishing you joy beyond measure!"
    8. A candle: "May your days be merry and bright!" Mark the candle on the side with Liquid Paper or nail polish dots to count down to Christmas. Each night the recipient burns the candle down to the next dot.
    9. Calendar: "Keep Christmas in your heart the whole year through!"
    10. A new roll of wrapping paper: "Wrap your holidays in love and cheer! And now you won't run out this year!"
    11. A big popcorn bowl with the family name painted on it: "You bowl us over!"
    12. "I Spy" bottles for kids, made from clean plastic jars filled with 30 or so small trinkets and bird seed for filler. Kids can stay occupied by trying to "spy" all the different items in the jar."
    13. A bag of simmering potpourri: "Scenting you holiday greetings!"

I too have a list with these type sayings in it-- which is funny, cuz I was just going thru them yesterday, sorting and deleting duplicates! LOL

    Here's a few more I have that I like:

    • Filled Basket: "Wishing you a basket full of Christmas blessings"
    • 7Up: "7 UPlifting ideas for a wonderful holiday season" (include 7 uplifting thoughts/ideas)
    • Sparkling Cider: "Wising you a sparkling holiday season!"

    • Apple Cider w/wassail mix: "Spice Up Your Christmas!"
    • Snickers Candy Bar: "Don't "snicker" - just be glad you got something!" (One of my favorites- lol!)
    • Apples and Hershey's Hugs: A teacher can't live by apples alone...she needs hugs too!"

    • Cinnamon Sugar for toast: "May your Christmas be sprinkled with laughter and love!"
    • Cinnamon Rolls: "Here's a sweet treat "Rolled" up with warm Holiday Wishes! Merry Christmas!"
    • Loaf of bread: "For being there when you were "kneaded", for "rising" to the occasion, large or small. For never "loafing" on the job, for helping others "heel" with TLC. No matter how you "slice" it, you do a terrific job loving others."
    • Muffins or Muffin Mix: "You're gettin' "muffin" for Christmas!" (My 2nd favorite!)
    • Brownie Mix (or other mix): "Whip up this mix for a wonderful holiday fix! Wishing you a "rich" Holiday Season!!"
    • Seasoning Mix: "Seasoned with love - Happy Holidays!"

    • Star ornament: "Remember the reason for the season!"

    • Box of Light Bulbs: "Have a bright and radiant Christmas"

This idea is so easy and says “I love you”, you’ll want to make them for friends, grandparents, parents and anyone who needs a smile!

    Instructions:
    • Wrap an empty box ( any box of any size will do ) with colorful wrapping paper or paint a bright color.
    • Decorate the “gift” as creatively as possible & tie a big ribbon around the package.
    • Attach one of the following 2 poems to the package:
    Poem #1

    I took an ordinary box
    As empty as can be
I filled it with a special gift
    And wrapped it carefully.
But please don’t ever open it
    Just leave the ribbon tied
And hold it tightly near your heart
Because my love for you’s inside!

    Poem #2

This is a very special gift
    That you can never see.
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.
    Whenever you are lonely
    Or even feeling blue,
You only have to hold this gift
And know I think of you.
    You never can unwrap it.
    Please keep the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart
    It's filled with love inside.
