Need some gift ideas for teachers!

I know this seems really early, but I like to get my Christmas shopping done early, before they jack up the prices, any way, I wanted to know what you think are good gifts for teachers. I have 4 to buy for so they can't be real expensive.

I've done candles, lottery tickets and Dunkin Donuts gift cards. My son has the same teachers this year so I really don't want to repeat. If anyone can give me some ideas as to what you have given, or if there are any teachers out there that would tell me what they like. I would greatly appreciate it.

I will have this issue very soon with the babies starting kindergarten... The one theme on this site when asked this questions is - Starbucks gift card. Something that a teacher can only spend on themselves and get an indulgence of coffee, tea, or sweets. It is not usually spent on family, friends, or the classroom like Walmart or Target gift cards.

I'm a teacher and I can tell you that I once got a basket that a little girl and her mother made. It had mixed nuts (the kind you need a nut cracker to open) in the bottom of a basket and then fruit on top. This idea was fairly inexpensive and cute. It was really nice and a healthier option. When I was smaller my mom used to give teachers the smaller umbrellas or sometimes holiday kitchen or finger tip towels. I've also been given $5 video store gift cards with microwave popcorn, and movie candy (also a cute idea and lately CVS has had great deals on candy although not sure what that will be like by the holidays).

My daughter is a teacher and loves getting gift cards (Starbucks, Outback, Red Lobster etc). If you have a stockpile you could make baskets with shampoo, toothpaste, lotion, soaps, electrasol, etc. I get inexpensive baskets, make a nice big bow and fill it with my stockpile items. I do this for showers, b'days, etc

hey scoobytrec...i had given movie theater gift certificates last year to my son's teachers. they loved it...you don't have to do a huge amount...especially if you can find the discount theaters (like the $2 theaters or whatever they are these days!). then like another poster suggested, you can get the boxes or bags of candies or popcorn and give them a little basket of that.

Please, from a former teacher, do not let it involve coffee mugs or anything with apples on it. The teacher's lounge is where all of those coffee mugs go to die. There are hundreds of them in there.

I teach middle school so I don't get many holiday gifts from students...but when I do it is always extra special if it was something the student put their heart in....homemade cards are always a tear-jerker...I keep them!!!

Last year we did Walmart gift cards with DD picture on it. She was wearing a red Santa hat. That way the teachers could see her smiling face while they spent their GC.
