Hannaford ~ Question: HANNAFORD-Do We Have the Official Coupon Policy?

I don't think I've ever seen one but I've had issues trying to use a meat winetag on meat markdowns and its ticking me off. I could swear I've done it before and suddenly its "well we already took $$ off, we can't take off two coupons"

I have put in an e-mail but I though maybe someone had the policy already or some feedback?

Otherwise DH will have to grab one last meat package instead of going in to ask for the $2 to be refunded on the purchase we made and were denied usage.

OK I spoke with CS. She was unable to find a specific coupon policy in any records she has available to her, but is forwarding my information to her supervisor who is supposed to contact me.

Oh boy. Finally got an answer( so much for three day turnaround time, eh?):

Dear Mrs. Watts: Thank you for your recent email. We value your input and are glad to have the opportunity to respond. After a recent review of our coupon acceptance policy, we decided to begin accepting Internet coupons. While we are extremely pleased to offer our customers the opportunity for additional savings, we have instituted guidelines to reduce the risk of loss due to counterfeit coupons. Multiple coupons of the same type can only be used "one per transaction". Hannaford will decline the use of coupons that have a high dollar amount (e.g. $5.00 or more off original retail value) We will not accept coupons that do not have a printed expiration date. We also will not accept coupons without a scannable UPC bar code or that appear to be photocopied. Our Store Managers have the right to use their discretion on accepting or refusing coupons. We hope you can understand the necessity of these guidelines, and we certainly appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to maintain the integrity of coupons. Again, thank you for contacting us, Mrs. Watts, and for choosing Hannaford. If we can further assist you, please do not hesitate to let us know.

I wrote back asking for the complete coupon policy and if the one per transaction is just for internet coupons ro all coupons (insert, store). Also to let them know how poorly they are seen by couponers with better alternatives in both coupon redemption (Shaws, Stop-n-Shop, etc) and prices (Market Basket). Also that many IPs have security features such as unique IDs, microprinting, watermarks and the veri-fi ability right there. We'll see what we get back.

I got a very generic letter that states it is manager discretion for any Q usage, but to contact with any more questions LOL

Does Hannaford's double under 99 cents? I'll be near a Hannaford's the last week in June, and I want to know if it's even worth it to go there, or just stick with my usual Shaws, which will be just as close to me as Hannaford's.
