re: HANNAFORD Free and Cheap deals-Post yours HERE ~ 2009 If your Hannaford lets you use a $1/1 coupon on a .99 item, then use the Muir Glen $1/1 on the 8oz. tomato sauce cans which are priced .99 and get free sauce.
Same thing would apply to the Organic Valley Stringles string cheese which are .79 cents. Use the $2/2 any OV product and get free string cheese!
There is one person at my Hannaford who won't let me use a coupon that is more than the price of the item. I contacted customer service and they sent me a letter with their coupon policy. It looks to me like it's up to the manager whether or not they will take a coupon for more than the price of the item since the letter really didn't address this particular issue.
Has anyone else had any problems with this type of thing? At Price Chopper, they don't allow overage, but they will at least adjust the coupon down and I get the item for free.
I'm wondering if it really is Hannaford's policy not to take coupons for more than the price because none of the cashiers have ever adjusted them down and they usually seem at a loss as to how to get the coupon to take. Some of them will play around with the register until they get it to go thru.
Ok, didn't mean for this to get so long.
