FAQ: What is a hangtag coupon

A hangtag coupon is a coupon that is hung on a product. Usually the neck of a bottle of some sort.

At the liquor stores in Minnesota, are these considered hangtags or winetags? I see them on liquor and wine bottles but I never look to see what they are for, I figure they are a rebate for purchasing their product? Are these valuable? thanks!

okay about a month ago there were some hang tags on tide at target.. it had 2 coupons tide 1 - $1/1 hanes & 1 - $1/1 tide. I grabbed 5 off of the bottles..

so now i am kinda kicking my self that i did not grab more (really good sale at target at the moment on hanes socks), but at the time (and still now) i am not sure if it is really really really wrong to grab them when you are not buying the product they are on. can someone answer this question for me..

p.s. i am neradic about doing this whole couponing thing the right way and not doing anything that is super frowned upon.
