Default Re: Gymboree FAQ (ask a Gymboree Manager)

I know this thread is a little old now, BUT can anyone tell me when the best time to redeem gymbucks is? I would assume the 17th so you can get the best selection, but I would hate to go redeem them then only to have everything I bought get a major markdown on the 21st or something. Also, are there ANY 20% or other coupons out there that can be combined with gymbucks redemption? When I called gymboree they said any coupons that didn't specifically say they were not combinable with gymbucks redemption could be used...is that correct?
Thanks in advance for any help here!

Sorry, I totally missed this question. Hope this helps for next time (Oct 2-12):

Best selection is the first day (come in the day before and put your favorite pieces on hold!). Stores receive a replenishment the following Wednesday and that Wed and Thur is usually much quieter, so if you're missing something from the first couple lines, that's a good time to check back for it.

There are no coupons that can be used with Gymbucks redemption. If you have a Gymboree Visa, you do get that discount on top of Gymbucks.

Hope that helps!

I was surprised we haven't put them out (yet?) this weekend, since half of stores have inventory on the 14th and will need to clear out some of that sale product before then.

Officially, of course, they won't be back until January.

Is there a current coupon that I could find in a magazine, etc? I had one, but expired on the 24th, and I was planning on hitting the store this weekend to get some fall clothes for DD.

I just signed up for their e-newsletter and haven't shopped much, so I don't think I'm on their mailing list yet.

Both PLUM and Parenting currently have coupons. Many of the direct mailers expire in the next few days, so a new round should be mailing out next month.

Sadly, I don't keep up like I probably should on what all magazines have the coupons (mostly because my employee discount won't let me use them anyway), but I know some of the other ladies around here keep better tabs.

I have a gymboree outlet near me on Long Island. Are the prices there worth it. Or am I better off going to a regular retail store when there is a sale? Looking for great deals on fall and winter clothes for my toddler.

Thanks,

Ellie

IMO, it will also depend on what you're looking for.
Gymboree Outlets usually have similar quality clothing (though it may vary) for slightly lower prices, but their sales are not as good, and (to my knowledge) they don't participate in the gimmick sales like Gymbucks.

They remake lines from the previous year, so that may make a difference when you are purchasing items. If you bought a lot of last year's winter items at a retail Gymboree store, you may not want a lot of outlet items.

That said, outlet items on deep clearance are usually a good deal. :)

IMHO, Gymboree retail stores have much better pricing than Outlet. Outlet doesn't take coupons, and with coupons the new lines are the same price anyway. Add Gymbucks, COF, R&S, etc and retail often has better pricing.

And when we ran BRB, retail had bins at $4.99, where Outlet ran comparable bins at $6.99. Just as an example.
