New to the forum please help !

Hello everyone I am a new mother that is trying to get the hang of this extreme couponing to save our family some money since we recently found out about this website from a friend . I have just moved to virginia and Im not sure where to start I have the basic concept somewhat down I tried to buy a newspaper here the washington post is all Im familiar with so far and was looking through some of the giant ads but not sure what the best way is to match up the coupons to save the most money . Sorry if I sound a bit lost ive been searching through the internet all afternoon trying to find guidance I suppose im trying to find someone who is experienced with this to help me out with step by steps . I have a friend from florida that used to do this however im not sure what its called but she uses a website that tells her which newspaper to find her coupons and how to match them up with the stores such as cvs, target, grocery stores etc. please help . I have been trying to start this for the past three months but keep giving up because im discouraged since im not sure what Im doing I would appreciate any tips advice from anyone since the website is still a little confusing for me this is the first time i have signe dup for a forum before . thanks everyone

You really have to take it step by step. Don't try to do it all at once or you'll just frustrate yourself.

I'm pretty new to this myself, so here's what I've learned so far:

1. Don't feel the need to go after every deal. It can be exciting at first to save every $ you can by trying to get the deals at every store in your area, but pick the stores you like the best and focus there.

2. This site is great for getting coupon match-ups. Since you're already posting in the Giant forum, just check back here, and several match-ups are posted for what's on sale.

3. Take it a little at a time. This site is overwhelming at first, so don't try to go over everything. I'd suggest starting with 'The Basics' links at the top left hand sided of the screen. The tips there were very helpful to me!

4. Lastly, don't expect miracles overnight. If you're setting yourself up to be like the extreme couponers you see on TV, you're probably going to be disappointed. For most people it takes awhile to get a system down.
