Giant/SuperG ~ Question: Giant/SuperG: Unilever deal 5/15-5/21-How does Breyers ice cream BOGO work?

This week's ad has a Unilever promo, Save $5 instantly off your order wyb $20 worth of participating Unilever products. The Breyers ice cream which is a participating product, is also on sale BOGOF. Now, my question to anyone who has done this deal is: Does the free ice cream count towards the $20 requirement? For example, if I buy 6 of the icecream (reg. price $3.99 in my area), 3 of them will be free due to the sale, but will the reg. price of all 6 ($23.94) count towards the $20 required for the instant $5 off? Or, will I have to buy 12 (gulp!) to reach the $20?

I have a bunch of .75/1 Breyer's coupons to use........(no idea how it will all fit in the freezer though! )

I asked this question tonight at my Giant and the cs girls stared at me like I was nuts. They had no idea! I didn't have time to try because my 3 year old was about to blow so I had to get outta there!

I tried the deal on last Saturday with 4 breyers ($3.99/2) and 5 skippy peanut butter ($2.5/1) and other produce. I used 4 .75/1 breyers and 5 .4/1 skippy. The deal didn't work. Had to go to CS to get my $5. Good luck.

Oh, ok, I don't think I'll be doing the Unilever deal then, although even without the instant $5 off, the ice cream is a good deal with the .75/1 coupons. And tealover, yes, I have been able to use 6 coupons when buying 6 breyers (did it last time they were b1g1f)......I just scan my card last just to be on the safe side!
