Better than FREE Lysol at my Giant

Just got back from my local Giant. In the clearance section I found the smaller cans(12.5 oz) of Lysol marked down from $3.99 to a $1.99. I had 8 $2 coupons, so they paid me to take them!!

I found Dove bars for $1.14 on clearance last week @ Giant and I had a coupon for $1 off any Dove chocolate product (the item fit the minimum ounce requirement) but the cashier told me that they couldn't use coupons off of clearance items?) I did notice that the clearance items had a different bar code stuck ontop of the actual dove bar code, would that make any difference? What's the rules? Is the check out man right or wrong?

i've used q's on clearanced items countless times, i think its a YMMV sort of thing.

I am MD. I had a cashier tell me the same thing. I contacted the corporate office through email and they called me to tell me that they do accept coupons on clearance items, and they also mailed me a check for the amount of the coupons I was trying to use. HTH.
