Default Any problems at Giant using Q's?

To everyone in the C-burg area:

Please post any problems, using Q's here.
The reason I'm posting is that I think they are changing the rules again on everything, and it's a YMMV kind of thing.

The 2nd to last time ago, that they ran triples I encountered this problem:

I was told that I couldn't use more than (1) .75 Q, w/ a triple Q. I had 6 boxes of SuperPretzels when I encountered this. I used 1 triple on the Pretzels. They wouldn't let me use another .75 Super Pretzel Q, SO...I pulled out a .75 Q for the Luigi's. They told me that they are only allowed to triple 1 of each denomination-ex. : 1 (.75), 1 (.50), 1 (.40), 1 (.35). This was at the S-burg store. ?????
1) Is this the same at your store?
I can't very well promote 'proper couponing', if we are all being told something different. I think I was singled out.
2) Have you been told that they only double the FIRST of any like amount?
For example, I was told that if I'm buying 5 Scott TP, I can have 5 Q's, but they will only double the 1st one! That was a new one for me! lol. The cashier, and her supervisor both told me that, but when I checked my receipt, mine were all doubled? ????? I didn't want to bring more attention to this, as I was afraid they would demand $$$ for the ones that doubled.
3) Does your store allow you to use a BOGO Q on a BOGO sale?
4) On a BOGO sale; will your store allow you to use a Q on both items, or just the one? The S-burg store only allows 1 Q, because I am already getting the 2nd one free; so that one can't be discounted.
So check your receipts, to see what they are doing. If you get a more 'seasoned' cashier; please report back what they are saying to you, so we can figure out the rules. lol.
So if everyone could please check your receipts, and ask questions, or make a phone call (to remain anonymous), and report back here; I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and please post the location/street name that you received your info. Thanks so much!

If they are going to lengthen the couponing rules; I for one, would like to have a printed copy, so I can actually know what they are. lol.

TIA

I know one of the people who works the service desk @ Wayne Ave. I'll ask him when I get the chance. I'm going over there today, it should be fun *grin*

1) The stores I go to in Shillington/Reading area only allow doubling/tripling on q's up to and including .50, so I can't say about the .75. But I've never been told there are limits of triples of different denominations. Weird.

2) No.

3) My store has allowed this in the past (L'oreal Vive went through no problems for me, for example). It may have just been a clueless cashier, though.

4) I think I've been allowed this in the past.

I usually do a big shop once a week, so the q deals are mixed in with my needs for the week - I think most of the time they fail to notice much of anything.

Well, I went over to Giant today (Wayne Ave.) and didn't have any problems. I had (3) 75 cent coupons and they were all tripled. They were for different items tho'.
Sometimes it depends on the cashier, I've had problems using Q's on the discount cart stuff but I generally just ask for the manager and that solves that. I will try to find out what the "offical" at the moment, rules are :)

My stores (Pottsville, PA) only double/triple up to and including .50, but I can only double 1 like coupon. This is a store to store decision, not a corporate policy. Each store is allowed to set how many like coupons they will double. It is also up to the cashier to hit a DND button if the coupon isnt to be doubled, so that is why they all doubled. The self checkout at my store is set to double all coupons up to and including .50.

I have always been allowed to use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale. Im not sure if this is policy or just uniformed cashiers.

I know at my store in Thorndale, they will only double the first coupon for the same item, so I would guess it is the same when they have triples.

I have never been told or not allowed to use 6, (now 4) $.75 coupons for triples, as long as they are different items.

I do not believe I have ever tried using 2 coupons on a BOGO. They do allow coupons on BOGO but I am not sure how many.

Hope this was of some help.

Default Re: Any problems at Giant using Q's?

I went to the Sburg store yesterday evening, and am happy to report that I had NO problems using any of my Q's!...but then again; the 'seasoned' cashier, and 'seasoned' CS, were NOT working.
I really felt last time that I was singled out. -Must've 'maxxed out' on their FREE toilet paper limit the time before.' (What I got wasn't too unreasonable, really.) I think they are a bit too envious of my FREE coupons. For that, I cannot be made to feel too guilty. After all, I'm the one signing up for all the offers, that generate these FREE coupons. In the beginning, I DID post an ISO for cat food FREEs, and Edy/Coke FREES, but that was it. The rest I have earned 'all by myself'. (even though, I DID do the 'legwork', to get those.)
When I worked for Giant in Cburg several years ago, we had to manually put in the Triple coupons; they didn't scan. I noticed that now they DO scan, just like any other coupons.
Now, last night, when I handed the cashier my Q's, I told her which coupons, I wanted to be tripled, she told me, "oh, don't worry about that. The computer AUTOMATICALLY starts w/ the highest ones." !!! (funny how those things are told differently, in the SAME store.)
Maybe I have an 'evil twin' lurking out there. LOL
Maybe last night they didn't have a problem, because I had a full cart of groceries, instead of justy 'frees or nearly frees after coupon'.
Anyhow, I'm going to 'sticky' this thread, so others can post their experiences using Q's at Giant, and we can have up-to-date info on the different store locations, should anyone else have any hassles. So it is my hope that everyone will continue to contribute any pertinent info, and newcomers will be able to check out info that pertains to their area and store. tia

HAPPY DANCE Re: Any problems at Giant using Q's?

This is O.T. (don't know where to put it, sorry) But, if you get the Franklin Shopper there's an ad for Franklin Hardware that says if you bring in an empty bag of cat or dog food (any brand) they'll give you a free bag of Pro Pac or some such....you may want to grab a F.S. and check it out (it's actually in the printed section, not the circs...only Food Lion this week anyway)

Thanks for posting faeryedark!
Just wanted to add: for those of you who don't receive the Franklin Shopper on your doorstep; there are multiple locations where you can pick up a copy...such as Sheetz.

My store has always had a limit of one like coupon doubled per order EXCEPT for the self-scan--no limit there.

but TODAY that all changed. Only one like coupon even at the self-scan.

guess I'll be buying many multiple orders of one item each.

Giant is the ONLY store in my area that has a restriction like this. Some stores will only double 4 like coupons--a more reasonable limit if one were necessary. Other stores have NO limit.

I'm finding that Giant is a great store WHEN IT FIRST OPENS. Give it 2 years and then it falters badly unfortunately
