I got my ad in the mail today and my store in NO LONGER an instat savings store... although I have no idea where the closest gas station is![]()
I usually shop in thorndale which is already a little bit of a hike for me. I'm guessing all stores are changing over.... I'm not very happy about it
IMO, gas deals are much better than instant savings. Instant savings are usually worth $3 but gas deals are worth $6.00 off if you get the full 30 gallons. But if you have to drive 30 minutes to get to a gas station, I understand your frustration!
When my store put in a gas station I felt the same way. HOWEVER, if you get 30 gallons in gas(car tank and then gas tanks) you make out MUCH better - almost $7 per normal 200 point deal rather than $3.
My guess is that they will partner with a gas station near the store for the gas deal if there is no pump there. Logistically it would be crazy for you to have to drive 30 minutes to a Giant pump and not fair at all.

Horsham switched to gas points too. The nearest Giant gas station is about 10-15 minutes further for me to go (Warminster). I pointed out to customer service that if I am going to go that far to get gas, it would be a good idea to just do my shopping at that store too.
Horham has applied for the permits to put in the gas pumps but they expect it to take about a year before they are in.
So I have a year without any gas or instant savings. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I *think* they just put a gas station in near the Giant on Downingtown Pike just on the west side of West Chester borough. I think I saw that advertised at the bottom of the circular a few weeks ago. I know that's still a bit of a drive from Thorndale though.
