State College Giant ending????

A friend told me that last week she heard that the State College stores are going to be ending the double $1 cpns..... I've heard this a few times before, but nothing has come of it.... anybody else know anything???

I hope it's just a bad rumor...again. I was there on Friday and didn't see any signs indicating that they were ending.

I wound up going twice last week - (had to go back to State College for cross country shoes AND spikes for DS, so "had' to make 2nd trip thru to help offset his $150 bill + gas) :)
anyway, I haven't seen anything about it, I even asked my cashier, who knew nothing.... I doubt they'd want to give a heads up to me & my huge binder though.... :)

I'm from SC and talked to a manager about this once.

In the next two years, the Giant stores in State College will be upgrading and will be adding a gas station. Once this is finished, the story is to end double $1 and do gas points instead.

So lets hope it takes a long long time for this to happen :)

I had asked a few months back because I had noticed some of the double dollare signs were down. I was told then that as long as Wegman's is there they will be doubling. I sure hope he was right.

I sure hope it takes a loooong time to get those gas stations in.... I MUCH prefer $1 cpns being doubled to some measly gas pts.... seems pretty complicated to me... I can save hundreds of dollars a month now - no way will gas discounts come near that.

I save several hundred a month in gas (sometimes I am even in the hundreds per week, got 30 gallon free yesterday and still have 2 other cars to fill) but I'm happy to take my gas at my Giant, and dollar doublers at your stores.

I never knew that State College doubled $1 coupons all the time! That might be worth a trip over there sometime As if I need a reason to go shopping!

Yep, it's pretty sweet, but remember, they will only double the first, "like" coupon for each transaction.
