yes and no......it just depends!!! My weis lets you use 4 of the same coupon whether it doubles or nots.....giant lets you use any amount of the same coupon but only doubles the first coupon. Hmmmm......I'm kinda thinking that Giant has higher prices all the time, but better sales than weis. Giant doesn't carry a lot of the things that Weis does.....so I guess it depends on what kind of mood I am in that week.

| Re: Giant ad 3/7 - 3/13 Coupons Days continue I think Giant's prices are higher, but they do have a better variety. My Weis takes Giant's Qs. Giant usually jacks their prices up on Dollar Doubler & Tripler weeks. So when I can, I take those to Weis, and use them there to get a great deal. I also love that Weis has a gas program w/ Sheetz now.
Todays Giant haul:
36 Ravioli -no Qs
24 Itty Bitty Ice Cream Cups-no Qs
1 Purina Naturals Cat Chow-14 lb bag-(1) $1.50/1 Man. Q
$1 Towards the Hunger Donation-I told the cashier that I prefer to donate groceries that I get for free, instead of making the cash donation, but this time I was making an exception.
She asked me why I was getting so much. I told her wait 10 min. and then she'd see why.
The cat food wasn't on sale. I just added it, like the $1 donation, to ease my guilt, about really taking advantage of this deal. (and because we can always use it.)
The cashier went to read off how much I saved, and said "Holy Cow, you got a LOT of 'Fill the Freezer' discounts!"
I said ' That is why I'm getting so much of these.
It doesn't take it $5 a pop, but discounts it all individually. Most of my items were rung up like 3, 6, 9 at a time, so the discounts look really weird.
Total before savings: $112.07
Total Savings: $87.14
Total After Savings (w/ tax included)>>> $25.77<<<
($16.43 of that was the $1 hunger donation and the cat food)
So, $9.34 for the 36 Ravioli & 24 Ittibitz Cups, plus the gas points

| Re: Giant ad 3/7 - 3/13 Coupons Days continue Revin, how did you save so much with no Qs? Did you have some $10 cats from the frozen food deal last wk?
I went last minute on Sat and was gonna do the frozen food deal, but they didn't have any of the flavors of stuff I wanted. I was gonna get the Turkey Hill IC and Superpretzels, enough to reach $25, but they didn't have one container of the flavor IC I like. I did get one box of pretzels and thought about getting some other frozen items to reach $25, but didn't bother. I did manage to get over $100 worth of groceries for $49, not as well as y'all do, but it was good to me.
But the good news, I did the Purex deal and they didn't say a word about the B1G1 coupon!! I had two of those Qs, but only found 2 bottles on the shelf. So I only used 1 Q and the girl said, "Is this your only free Q?" I told her I also had one for Free HeluvaGood item. I thought, oh,no, here it comes. But I think she only wanted to check for the prices. I only got the sale prices off the free items though, but no hassle was great!! It seems if I go there when the younger kids are working, they don't question coupons like the day people.
I think the sales at Weis this wk are worse than Giant. I do like that we can use 4 like coupons at Weis, but I really think their prices went up since the new store opened. And even with a new store, they don't seem to carry as much as Giant. I saw where the York Weis stores now offer pickup. You order online and then it's ready for you to pickup. They don't charge the fee for the first time. Ah, no thanks!

Page 13
Fill The Freezer
There are 2 items that are $1 each.
Ad says if you buy 6, you get $5 off your bill.
A previous poster posted that she did more than 1 in the same order, and the $5 came off for each one.
So you just need to make sure your total freezer items from page 13, is divisible by 6.
So that means they took off $50 in addition to the discounted sale price.
This deal is programmed weird though. It doesn't show $5 discounts, on my receipt.
Each discount comes off in cents off each product. Makes it confusing. This could be a nightmare for someone at the service desk trying to straighten out! So make sure you scan your card at the beginning.
Yeah, I'm not impressed w/ this weeks Weis ad either, other than the Kelloggs cereal deal.
I'm not sure about the ordering online thing and then paying w/Qs, how that would all work. I'm not up to venturing there yet, if it's available at our store or not.

| Re: Giant ad 3/7 - 3/13 Coupons Days continue I'm new here and have spent SO much time reading the Rite Aid thread today (it sucked the life right out of me, lol), but I happened across this thread and thought it might be of interest to some of you out there.
If you buy the Celeste pizzas from the Weis store that are $1.00 each this week (they were $0.89 at Giant last week and this is where I purchased them so I'm not sure if the Weis' packaging has them or not), but the boxes are clearly marked on the outside to let you know there are $5.00 worth of coupons in the boxes that have them (the plain cheese pizza did not even from Giant).
There are $1.00 of 2 Hungry Man dinners. Giant has them 5 for 10, or 6 for 12 to suit our needs (or other concoctions that I have little doubt you could all come up with, and with the $1.00 items, that wouldn't be too difficult). They'd be 12, minus the 5 and the additional $3.00 in coupons. The end price is, 6 for $4. I'm not as into it all as some, but I think this is a very good price.
Another coupon in there is there is $0.50 off 2 Aunt Jemima breakfasts. This definitely will require different transactions to get the full $1.00 off, but it brings the sale of 2/$3.00 down to a buck for 6. I don't buy these, but at this price, I'm not hesitating.
There is also I believe a coupon for $1 off 10 pizzas (Celeste), so you might want to buy 1 and go back for 10 more. Since I cut the coupons from the box, I can't be 100% certain that it's where I got the $1 off, but I really think it's where they came from.
Others that are included but are not on the sale are.
$1 off 4 Swanson classic entrees
$0.75 off Mrs. Paul's or Van de Kamp frozen products
$0.75 off 2 Lender's products (bagels)
Like I said, since they are cut already, I can't be certain this is where they all came from, but I truly think it is. Since it adds up to $5 total, I'm pretty confident that I'm right. |
