QUESTION black and white printed coupons now not allowed?

I was in a corporate store this morning and went in with my normal internet coupons... Ive been shopping this store for a long long time, used internet coupons all along, always printed them in black and white (to save money on ink) today, I was told (after the cashier brought my coupons to the manager) BY the manager that "all black and white coupons are copies and giant eagle doesnt accept them" when I said it is stated nowhere on thier policy and that Ive always done this, he said "new change" when the customer service lady came over to void my order she said she told him the coupons were legit... something about dots...
And why couldnt I copy them in color?? Does he not know theres color copiers???
    Is this a new change??
I hate being accused of fraud in front of other customers and my husband (who hates my couponing) and my daughter.

so... did they accept them or not? I think by asking, you already know the answer. If they refused them, take the coupons back and redeem them at customer service with your receipt. Or go to a different store and redeem them. Either way, you'll get the $$ you should have.

Call GE customer service on Monday (their number is on your advantage card.) Voice your complaint about the manager to CS and request a call back.

If these were Bricks or coupons.com coupons, note that the box where the expiration date appears has faint gray circles...that is one of the criteria that a cashier showed me she was supposed to check for, when coupons are printed in B&W. Supposedly these don't show up well (or at all) when a coupon is photocopied.

Hope that helps - and sorry for all of your coupon drama - that wasn't right!

No, they DIDNT accept them... and that was why i asked if there was a policy in effect for corporate stores that I was unaware of. I didnt purchase the items, as I had enough to purchase with coupons not without, so I just cancelled and walked out... Im going to definately call CS in the morning.

Not everyone has a color printer (many laser printers are monochrome [i.e., they just print black and white]).

    Q) So how could a retailer only accept color coupons?

I use B&W all the time and never have a problem. I am just wondering if it is your store.

What did customer service have to say about this?

I wonder if GE gave the cashiers the ole' "watch out for fraudulant coupons" pep talk....Lately, no matter what store I've gone to, my q's are scrutinized or the cashiers make up nonsense...but I print out coupons from home that are colored and the ones I print at work that are B&W and so far, no problem.
