not always true. I grew up in Doylestown so im VERY familiar with GE and actually come home to shop there often. I live in land of Kroger. The kroger up the road from me limits 10 coupons PERIOD. while the rest have unlimited doubles :shrug7:

That is sad to hear they limit you in OH, I have gone to our GE's here in Pittsburgh, PA area with 30 of the same coupon and they never blink an eye. We have a good bit of competition though with Shop N Save, Kuhn's, & Community Market all doubling coupons.

All this is news to me. I sometimes use 30+ coupons. And definately more than 4 of one kind. I have never had a problem (knock on wood) with any GE I shop @. I am in the Akron area. I shop @ hudson, stow, chapel hill & tallmadge.

As someone that works at a Columbus area Giant Eagle I can safely say that the corporate policy is 4 like coupons per transaction, not all stores enforce this rule, it depends on the manager.

To the OP's topic:

Wow, I never heard of that before at Giant Eagle. I know if I go through the self checkout with more than 2 like coupons it'll require assistance, but I've gone through with 10 of the 75 off Skintimate coupons for the Skintimate trial and no one said a word.

It is a common practice in the independently owned GE's to limit the # of Q's. The corporately owned GE's current policy allows for more but can still be limited by management if they see fit.

I had no idea. How do you find out which is independent and which is corporate? I think I want to stay away from the independent stores..

Default Re: Coupon Policies in Central Ohio area

A cashier at the newish Giant Eagle on Hayden Rd ( Hilliard) in Columbus told me that there is a coupon/ item ratio meaning you can't use more coupons than items (just like Walgreens) . Another thing I encountered for the first time was that the 4 like coupons rule also limits you to 4 catalinas as well. The staff is very nice there (except one supervisor one time who was a bit rude about the catalina rule!) so I still go there and try to follow the rules!

Mentor GE on Andrew's Road does not seem to have a limit. I've used 20 Q's before.

I shop at the N. High street one all the time (clintonville). I selectively choose cashiers and use up to 10 of the same coupon and they double no problem. I actually just did my foodperks trip there with 125 coupons and 8 rain-checks.
