    QUESTION Shopping on Wed. nights

I get confused easily enough, but shopping on Wednesday nights at GE is putting me over the edge.

This is the third time I've had to return to GE for a refund because the tags were already for Thurs. pricing, but they rang up still at Wed. pricing.

The problem isn't with the advertised items, but with the non-advertised sales because the tags don't have a start date, only an end date, and some specials last more than one cycle. Therefore, I have no clue if on Wed. night this price is valid or not.

Now, CS has been really nice and the refunds haven't been a problem, but it's just a hassle having to return to CS every time. I know reading my sales slip before leaving is key here, but it's still seems a bit "bait and switchy".

Anyone have any tips for wed. night shopping or are there any pros that can outweigh the cons I'm experiencing.

Ugh - I think I would just skip Wednesday night altogether :0) If you must go on Wednesday night, I guess just take that week's flyer and the following week's flyer with you and check to see what week's sale it is? I guess I would also stop @ CS and make sure they computers haven't switched over yet for the next week's sale.

you do insist on it free right? If it does not scan at the price marked.... the first one of each item is free!

So..when do you expect the store to change over the sale prices and tags. Its official after 12, but they have to start sometime and most often it is just one or two people changing the tags over.

Just wondering what the stores do.

I think this is pushing it a little bit. I guess technically this is the policy, however the stores do need time to put up the tags and get everything switched over. It's not like they can bring one person in for each tag that needs changed and say 1..2..3....GO! at midnight and everyone place the tag at the exact same time.

I don't know....with something as simple as this, I would hate to burn bridges with my store.

Mine start actually stocking or putting the new Thursday sale items on the shelves and endcaps around 6pm and after on Wed. Kinda' nice because can then see what specific items might be included in the Thursday sale though not specifically mentioned in the ad (I'm thinking how a couple weeks ago on Wed. evening how I saw them stocking the skippy peanut butter on the end cap with other items mentioned in the ad for the catalina sale but not mentioning the skippy in the ad) . Problem i find with shopping wed. evening is if i still want to buy a few items from the sale that ends wed. and they already have the sale tags removed. Then i have to try to remember what flavor or sizes were included in the sale before buying. I don't see them putting up the new thursday sale tags at that time probably because the CS would be flooded with accu scan returns to get the thursday sale items FREE!

This got me thinking,..I remember sometimes shopping at Tuesday Morning on the Monday before a big sale starts and they would stock all the sale items for the Tuesday sale with big sale posters with the sale items and sale prices-- THEN cover the posters with like cloths or something to be removed on Tuesday when the store opens. It's not like while you're shopping Monday evening you couldn't 'peek' under these cloths hanging over sale posters to see the sale prices!

Yes, when I returned to CS, she did end up giving it to me for free, but it certainly wasn't my intention to just score free items.

My point is, because the sale tag doesn't show a start date, I have no idea if it was for the previous week's sale or if it starts on Thurs. It ends up being a crap shoot at the register. That's what I'm trying to avoid.

CS agreed with me that it's also a hassle for them as they don't know which "batch" of tags have already gone through and which won't until after midnight. It just seems like a PIA all around. I guess i'll just avoid Wednesday nights.
