No, if you have a coupon for a dollar, they will not double it. If you have a coupon for 99 cents, they will double it up to $1.98 from my understanding. Hence the "double coupons up to 99 cents" part.

Oh I wish there were .99c q's...

That's it, if your coupon face value is .99c or less, it doubles, you get 2x face value(except when the q x2 exceeds the cost of the product, then the double will adjust)...
If your coupon face value is $1.00 or more, you only get face value on that coupon.

Welcome to Giant Eagle! Here are the FAQ’s that will hopefully answer any question you have for shopping at Giant Eagle: Giant Eagle Store Policies and General Information

To answer your question, any coupon with a face value of $.99 or less will be fully doubled - so a $.40 will double to $.80, a $.90 coupon to $1.80 and a $.99 coupon to $1.98. The coupons cannot go over the price of the product, so if the items is only $1.00 and you have a $.60 coupon, the coupon will only double to $1.00, not $1.20. This is limited to MFR coupons only. Giant Eagle store coupons and catalina coupons will not double at all. Don’t forget to have the cashier scan your advantage card before coupons - they will not double w/o your card! HTH!

I remember back in the days when they only doubled up to .50. It would drive me crazy that a .55/1 q would not double at all. The Philadelphia area had the same policy of only doubling up to .50 BUT, they would still double all q's under a dollar - it would only double up to a dollar (i.e. .55 would double to $1)

Also remember that some stores are independently owned. Corporate requests that they double "do not double" DND coupons that start with a "9" instead of a "5" - however many independent stores do not double. You can certainly ask or point it out to the cashier, but dont be surprised if you are told no.

My store will NOT double DND's no matter what.

All my GE that are corp (summit county and Portage county OH) double DND5 not DND9. jtlyk for those in this area.
