So, at the SCO (Self Check Out) this item scanned at $3.99 instead of $2.50.

Yikes!

Q) What to do?

I decided not to use my precious $1.50 coupon and just pay for the item.

On my way out I boogied to the Customer Service Desk.

I mentioned that I paid $3.99 and that the sign said 4 / $10.00.

An employee went back to check it out and came back with the 4 / $10.00 sale sign.

After getting a credit on my credit card, I was given the batteries for free, per Giant Eagle’s glorious Price Scan Guarantee.

Q) Free is good? Right?

Note: I have found that if I first pay for the improperly price scanned item and then take it over to the Customer Service Desk that this greatly increases the chance at getting the item for free.

Instead of pointing out the item while checking out.

I have done this several times. The Legacy Village store has been great. I got a free Freschetta pizza and shampoo there that rang up wrong.

this happened to me recently with a box of Pampers. 19.99 box of diapers for free.
makes me wonder how often we are charged full price without noticing.

Terry - free is awesome! I had that happen once w/ Enfamil Formula and another time w/ mums that were dying off - they survived and ended up being absolutely beautiful this past year!
