There are various threads for weekly deals, brags, and chit chat as well as individually started threads for special deals.

Where can I find a Giant Eagle store?
Giant Eagle stores are located throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, north central West Virginia and Maryland. Use Giant Eagle's Store Locator to find locations near you.


What days do sales run?
Weekly sales begin on Thursday and end on Wednesday.


Can I view the ad online?
Yes. Ads are posted the Tuesday prior to the sale around noon on the Giant Eagle's website here. We have several absolutely fabulous members who receive the ad on Monday’s and they have gone above and beyond by typing up the ad in a new weekly thread. Keep your eyes peeled on Monday’s (sometimes sooner!) for the new ad!


Do I need a store card to get the advertised prices?
Yes, you must have a Giant Eagle Advantage Card to get most sale prices and of course to take ‘advantage’ (ha ha) of eOffers, catalina specials, Fuelperks, Foodperks and to track your purchases/savings.
If you do not wish to sign up, ask your cashier if they have a store card you can use for the weekly sales prices.


How do I contact Giant Eagle with a question, compliment or complaint?

Can I use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale?
Yes. Each item in a BOGO sale rings up at half price, so 1 coupon can be used on each item. This does not apply to the meat case BOGO’s (ie, buy one pork loin, get one free) they ring up at the price marked and the lesser value item will be deducted after the cashier totals your sale or if at a SCO (self check out) you hit ‘Finish and Pay’.

The down side to BOGO’s ringing half price each is that we do not get the benefit of having a BOGO coupon making both free - a BOGO coupon will give you two for half the price of one.


Does Giant Eagle participate in Upromise?
Yes. Be sure to enter your Advantage Card number in your Upromise account to earn extra savings.


What happened to the Catalina Subforum???
The Catalina Sub-forum has been removed and all catalina threads are posted in the general Giant Eagle forum. If you miss the sub-forum, there is an easy, yet temporary way to get it back: Scroll to the bottom of the page to where it says ‘Display Options’. Click the ‘Prefix’ drop down menu and select ‘Giant Eagle ~ Catalina’, and if desired select the order and time frame you’d like to see, then click ‘Show Threads’. You should now see only the catalina threads. HTH!

Giant Eagle® is happy to redeem coupons. The following guidelines apply to all forms of coupons:

*The coupon has a valid expiration date and has not expired.
*One coupon per item(s) purchased as stated on the coupon with a maximum of 12 coupons per same 12 items purchased in a 24-hour period per Giant Eagle Advantage Card® customer.
*Coupon value cannot exceed the price of the item(s) purchased. If it does, we can only redeem up to the value of the item(s) purchased. (Excluding sales tax)

It is Giant Eagle’s official stance that they do NOT accept coupons that say ‘only redeemable @‘ therefore any discussion of using them is against GE and HCW’s policies and can result in a warning or infraction.

Some examples of acceptable/not acceptable coupons from other stores' circulars:






Coupon 1 (turkey) states "in-ad coupon" at the top and also has yellow print that says "Valid only at Foodland." This coupon CANNOT be used at Giant Eagle.

Coupon 2 (Pillsbury) says "good only at Foodland" at the top. The fine print at the bottom also reads "This coupon will only be redeemed by Foodland." Again, this one CANNOT be used at Giant Eagle.

Coupons 3 & 4 (Coke and Powerade) both say "Manufacturer's Coupon" at the top and neither coupon mentions Foodland or states that there is a restriction on where it can be redeemed. Therefore, these coupons CAN be used at Giant Eagle.

If the charge price of a product appears on your register tape at an amount higher than the displayed, posted or advertised price, you will receive the first improperly scanned item free.

You will then be charged the lower price for any additional items of the same product in the order. This does not include items prohibited by law (currently alcohol, tobacco and milk).

Are there limits to using my discounts?

If you choose to use your discounts, you can pump up to 30 gallons in one transaction for one vehicle. However, when done, your discount resets to zero (unless your total discount exceeds the price per gallon. Your fuelperks! discounts must also be redeemed in their entirety. Once you choose to redeem, the entire discount available will be subtracted from the cost of gas. Additionally, you are limited to a maximum of five redemptions per day and 30 redemptions per calendar month.

What products/services are excluded from earning fuelperks!®?

fuelperks!® discounts are excluded on alcohol and tobacco products (except where permitted by law), fuel, price-controlled milk products (PA only), kerosene, state-and federally-funded pharmacy prescriptions, postage stamps, lottery tickets, Giant Eagle® and GetGo® gift cards, money orders, Western Union, amusement or entertainment tickets, copy or fax machine service, delivery charges, fund-raising activities, donations, returned check service fees and items prohibited by law.

Can I give my discounts away?

foodperks!™ is a program much like fuelperks!®, except it allows you to earn discounts on grocery purchases at Giant Eagle® by pumping gas at GetGo®. For every 10 gallons of fuel you pump, you earn a 1% discount on a future visit to Giant Eagle®!


Do I earn foodperks!™ even when I'm using my fuelperks!®?
Yes. All pumped gallons qualify toward foodperks!™ discounts, including gallons you pump with your fuelperks!® discounts.

Is the fuelperks!® program going away?
Not at all. In fact, by combining your foodperks!™ and fuelperks!® discounts, you can maximize your savings on both fuel and food.

What if I pump fewer (or more) than 10 gallons at a time?
Every ounce of fuel you pump counts. When you pump fuel in an amount less than 10 gallons, this amount is counted toward discounts earned the next time you pump fuel. If you pump more than 10 gallons, but fewer than 20, you will immediately earn your 1% discount, and the balance will be held over toward your next fill-up.

How do I keep track of my foodperks!™ discounts?
We keep track for you. Like fuelperks!®, you can find how much of a foodperks!™ discount you’ve earned and how many gallons you have pumped toward your next discount on your participating Giant Eagle® or GetGo® receipt.

How long do I have to use my foodperks!™?
Your discounts expire three months after the last day of the month in which they are earned (for example, discounts earned in February 2010 expire on May 31, 2010). Your receipt tells you if any of your discounts expire at the end of the current month.

How do I use my foodperks!™ discounts?
When you check out at Giant Eagle®, Giant Eagle Express® or Market District®, you’ll be asked if you want to use your foodperks!™ or save them for a future visit. If you choose to use your foodperks!™, your discount will be calculated after all other reductions (coupons, Giant Eagle Advantage Card® discounts, etc.) are made.

Are there limits to using my discounts?
Your maximum redeemable discount is 20%. Discounts may only be redeemed on any single transaction totaling no more than $300 in qualified items after coupons and Giant Eagle Advantage Card® discounts are applied. Any remaining percentage in excess of 20% may be used on a future shopping trip. The larger your shopping order, the more you save. foodperks!™ discounts cannot be applied toward the purchase of gift cards.

Can I give my discounts away?
You cannot transfer foodperks!™ discounts to another Giant Eagle Advantage Card® account.

What are eOffers?
eOffers are electronic coupons and promotions available to you (our Customer) on gianteagle.com (our Web site). Simply browse and select (clip) eOffers online that load directly to your Giant Eagle Advantage Card ®. When you purchase the qualifying products and when your purchase meets the redemption requirements of an eOffer, the savings are automatically applied to your order and are noted on your receipt for each qualifying item.

Where can I use eOffers?
eOffers are accepted at Giant Eagle®, Market District®, GetGo®, and Giant Eagle Express®. Why do I need a card number to access eOffers?

How do I receive my eOffer coupon?
Go to the Giant Eagle® web site (Giant Eagle - Your Grocery, Cooking, and Lifestyle Destination) to sign up. You need to register with your Giant Eagle Advantage Card®. If you don't have a gianteagle.com account, you may register for one at gianteagle.com/Users/Registration.aspx. If you don't have a Giant Eagle Advantage Card®, you may sign up for one at our Customer Service desk.

How do eOffers work?

eOffers are limited to (1) per Advantage Card for (1) time use only. No matter how many of a particular product you buy you will only receive one eOffer discount.

What is a Catalina promotion?
Catalina promotions are special sales that require you to purchase a specific minimum dollar amount or quantity of selected products to qualify for a coupon that can be used on a future purchase.

For example, you may need to purchase $15 worth of cereal to qualify for a $3.00 coupon that will print from the machine after you have paid for your purchase.


Does Giant Eagle have Catalina promotions?
Yes! All stores are equipped w/ Catalina machines at each register.

Giant Eagle and Catalina have partnered to host a number of weekly and monthly promotions (click links to view on Giant Eagle’s website)


What is OYNO or Cat?
OYNO is an acronym of On Your Next Order. Cat is Catalina abbreviated.


What is all this ‘Shelf’ and ‘Sale’ I keep seeing and what does it have to do w/ a Catalina promotion?
Catalina promotions that require a specific minimum dollar amount purchase are qualified by either ‘shelf’ price or ‘sale’ price.

Shelf price is the regular retail price of the product - the price found on the everyday shelf tag. When an item is scanned by the cashier, the screen (and your receipt) will show the original retail shelf price then on a separate line you will see the sale discount deducted. If a Catalina promotion is going by shelf prices you will qualify for the coupon based on the original prices, not the sale pricing. This is typically a huge benefit as it means you may have less to purchase to qualify!

Sale is the current promotional pricing - the advertised or special tag pricing of an item. It is usually a larger yellow tag that is attached on the shelf over the regular retail pricing. When an item is scanned by the cashier, the screen (and your receipt) will show this price only and there will be no discount line. If a Catalina promotion is going by sale prices you will qualify for the coupon based on the discounted prices, not the original prices. This normally means you may have to purchase more to qualify.

For Example: Cereal A is Shelf price $4.00 but is on Sale for $2.00. The current promotions is if you purchase a minimum of $12.00 you will receive a coupon for $3.00 off a future purchase.

Shelf: Purchase (3) boxes at $4.00 = $12.00 Shelf, but you will pay the sale price of $2.00 for a total of $6.00 out of pocket (OOP) and qualify for the $3.00 OYNO

Sale: Purchase (6) boxes @ $2.00 = $12.00 Sale. You will pay $12.00 OOP and qualify for the $3.00 OYNO


My Catalina coupon did not print! What went wrong?
Most times an OYNO doesn’t print it is because the wrong items were purchased, there is a malfunction w/ the machine, the promotion was not activated by corporate or one of the items you purchased was inadvertently left off the promotion by corporate.

First check:
  • Is the Catalina printer on? Is the green light on? No red lights, right?
  • The items you purchased were the correct advertised items. Sometimes only specific varieties or sizes are included in the promotion.
  • You met the minimum required purchase? Even a penny off will disqualify the purchase.
  • Did you use your Advantage Card?

Now what?
Option A - Customer Service
The cashier cannot help, so you will need to go to Customer Service (CS).
It helps to keep a copy of monthly and weekly promotions PDF w/ you for easy reference although CS should be able to look it up on their computer systems.

If the error is on corporate’s behalf and the promotion is going by shelf price, it may be difficult to explain how you still qualify because CS will be looking at the sale pricing. You may want to consider Option B to save time and energy.

Option B - Contact Catalina
Receipts can take 24-48hours to show in Catalina’s systems, so you may want to wait a day or two to contact them.
Call: 1-888-8coupon and select option #3. You will speak directly to a Catalina representative who will ask for specific information from your receipt. If your receipt still hasn’t shown they may ask to return your call once it does. They will investigate and determine if you did qualify and will mail your coupons to you. This can take 2-4weeks at minimum.


Are coupons the reason I did not receive my Catalina Coupon?
Plain and simply: NO!!! Coupons have no affect on whether your purchase qualifies for a Catalina promotion.


Can I roll Catalina coupons?
Yes, with the exception of Proctor & Gamble Catalinas which cannot be used on Proctor & Gamble products. They can rolled into a non-P&G Catalina promotion though.

To be clear - You CAN use a P&G catalina in a transaction w/ P&G products as long as you have a minimum dollar amount of non-P&G products for that catalina to apply to. (did that make sense? lol)

Can I use more than (1) Catalina coupon in a transaction?
-Some stores will only permit the redemption of one total or one of each like Catalina’s per transaction.
-Some Catalina’s state ‘One per transaction’ on them.
-Most have no limit restrictions and therefore multiples can be redeemed in one transaction.
