If $2 in fuel perks only equals $20 then I would rather have the fuel perks. $2 would equal $60 in fuel.
I was talking to customer service today and they told me that I can have my fuel perks turned into a "gift card' by using my advantage card.
The way it works is if you don't use your fuel perks, instead of them going to waste, GE CS will add the fuel perks amount to your advantage card which will come off when you have your card scanned. So let's say you have $2 in fuel perks but don't want to go to getgo to use it. Then you call CS and give them your card number and they will add $20 in "gift card" to your advantage card which will come off when you use your card again but your total must be $20, all must be used at one time. Dunno if anyone else knew this but I certainly didn't and I am sooooo happy as I have extra free money to spend for this week's deals.![]()

Hmmmmmm well this is a deal for those who don't have cars.
I never did the Getgo fuel perks. For $2 they give you $60 in gas???
$2 off per gallon on a 30 gallon tank would be $60. DH has a diesel that costs like $100 or so to fill up. We save our perks for him because we get the best savings compared to my 15 gallon tank (@ $2 would only be $30 dollars)
Our biggest tank is a 16gal. We take three 5gal gas tanks with us when we fill up the car and fill them as well. We get the full 30 gallons each time we fill up using our Fuel Perks. We keep the tanks in the garage until the next time we need gas in one of the cars. In the gas that we would have left at the pump, the purchase of the extra tanks has more than paid for itself.

I remember kroger's pharmacy used to honor the giant eagle pharmacy $1 off coupons by giving you a $30 gift card. Not sure if they still do it though because I know kroger's pharmacy had to lay off nearly 90 pharmacists in the central ohio area so maybe they are cutting back on being generous with competitor pharmacy coupon matching. I know Target no longer honors the competitor pharmacy coupons.
Thats good ,but don't come back on here crying when your garage blows up and the fire is uncontainable due to the 15 gallons of combustible fluid going up like a atom bomb. As a voluntary fireman keeping combustible fluids on hand at your house in that big of quantity is very dangerous. It takes a small household fire and turns it into a catastrophe. I have seen it too many times.

Thanks for the info, OP. I always buy my gas at Giant Pa because, well, it's always free, lol. They run gas deals every week and I buy like crazy to get that free gas (there is nothing I hate more than buying gas and I have 2 teen drivers in the house).
I always just let my gas rewards expire at Giant Eagle because I never get enough to get it free. Right now, I think I have something like $0.50 off a gallon. Buying it there would still cost me $2.50 a gallon. While it wouldn't be a lot, getting it converted to a GC would be better than not using it at all.
The store is an hour from my home and I only go once a week to buy the big deals. Gas rewards are based on OOP costs only (at least they are at the store I shop at, but it's privately owned), so they don't add up very fast for me.
So how much gas should you safely keep in a garage? I live in the country and have my entire life. I can't remember a time that we didn't have at least 10 gallons of gas around between different mixture for chain saws, weed wackers, lawn mowers, quads... We would be running to the gas station 15 times a day.
