So DH and I are chowing down like we have never eaten these before and as I was holding the bag up to dump them in my mouth, I spotted it - a coupon -wrapped in plastic - for $.55/1 6.6oz-8oz. bag of Saltine, Parmesan, Pretzel, Pizza, or Baby Goldfish Baked Snack Crackers - exp 12/31/10!!!

If you bought 5 and got 5 coupons , your next 5 (of the selected varieties) will be FREE w/ the coupons! YAY!!! DH laughed as I said I was going to buy 5 more, open the bags in the parking lot and go back and get 5 more bags!! I'll be lucky if the 5 bags we have now last more than 3 days, so it does not worry me personally to open the bags up.

ETA: I think these Q's will actually give overage as the sale is 5/$10, so they ring $2 each, then you get the $5/5 discount after, so:

5 = $10
-(5) $.55/1 = $-5.50
-$5.00 instant savings
= $.50 overage


ETA 9/6/10: It looks like it is only the original cheddar flavor have the coupons and only selected batches. I can confirm the following batch #/exp date has the coupons:

I just went into all 5 bags I bought with no luck (2 Smores, 1 Cheddar, 1 Chocolate, and 1 Cinnamon). I was going to go back and get more anyway, so I may try the flavors on listed on your q's and see if I have any better luck.

thanks for the tip .. I live in MA so I am hoping we will be as lucky as you are .. Shaws had a sale last week .. $1.00 a bag so finding some of those coupons would be icing on the cake! thanks

Okay -I don't know if this helps anyone, but in the upper right corner of the bag fronts is the Sell by date and info - all of my bags said this:

Sell By: 1/09/11
DP8N2310
(then a 4 digit code - all of mine were different)

I also only bought Cheddar….

Ended up at 4 different Giant Eagles today as part of bargain holiday shopping. I can confirm that Jen is correct in that if you get only the original type cheddar goldfish with an expiration date of 1/09/11 DP8n2310--there will be a 55/1 coupon inside. ALSO DISCOVERED today and can confirm, if you buy only the original type cheddar goldfish with an expiration date of 1/02/11 DP892260 there will be a 55/1 coupon inside. Started off at the Seven Fields G.E. but was only 2 of the bags left with 1/9/11 expiration date, so got another 2 with 1/16/11 expiration date, a one with the 1/2/11 date for a total of 5 bags. The 1/16/11 DID NOT have a coupon inside, but the ones with the 1/2/11 and 1/9/11 expiration dates did have the coupon. Went to 3 additional G.E. after that and only got the original cheddar ones with the dates of 1/2/11 and 1/9/11 and all of those 15 bags had the coupons inside--and ended up being free with the coupons!

Great info. For those of us who don't go through bags of Goldfish as quickly as Jen's family, you think that Goldfish from opened bags should be fine sealed in Ziploc bags?
