SAD catalina/eoffer issues-sick of it!

For the 2nd time in a week, the catalina machine jammed on me. I usually do the cats as a separate order at a self check out, then check out w/ a cashier for everything else and use them right away (I tend to lose things). The 1st time, I went to customer service and got the cats on the pledge and scrubbing bubbles, but she didn't understand the the 2-$1 e offers (double dip) for them. So I figured I'm out 2 bucks.
But then yesterday,the manager saw what happened and told me to go to CS-who proceded to analyze my receipt, made me show her the items,(4 Dawns) , checked the weekly flyer,then rescanned them all and printed me out a faded,almost illegible cat. (All the while, I have a 3 year old with me) She said that it wouldn't be a problem because the cashier could punch in the #'s. But when I got home, I see the cashier only gave me $2 off instead of $5.
So now I'm out a total of $5, which is a lot to us couponers! GRRRRR!

Honestly, I just e-mail Catalina directly and don't even fool around with people at store level. Most of the time CS either doesn't understand the Cat deals or they treat you like a criminal for actually wanting the Cat. I just e-mail ncsc@catalinamarketing.com, let them know I was shorted and which deal it was for. I usually have the Cat(s) within a week. I know you like to use them right away, but this might be a better solution than dealing with CS all the time.
