I was told at the first location that I could come in on the following day and use more of the same coupons? She stated that GE can not keep enough of the sale items on the shelf if people come in and buy alot of the same. I need to read it. I think it stated "per customer"?
You know if this is true this really annoys me. I realize there can be a problem with keeping shelves full but why not just order more??? Isn't the idea to MAKE money?? If you turn someone away with 13 like items and 13 coupons then you just lost a sale of that last item along with the coupon and extra 8 cents?? And where did the number 12 come from?? Unless the advantage card is somehow going to limit this I really doubt it will be a big problem for those of us with several GE locations nearby. Sounds like a per day/per location thing but I guess I will have to see.

I can understand setting some limits but 12 seems like a strange number to me?? AT least it is not as bad as the 2 SHop N Save in my areas that will only allow 3 like coupons a day. So I end up going to both in one day to use 6 and keep going everyday till I get what I need. Of course this is ONLY when a something is free or can't miss sale price (which is rare) as otherwise I would not bother since GE did not limit me.

Amy, I'm going to say it has to do with many sale items being lost leaders which is to bring as many people into the store as possible. Then most of those people unlike most of us will pick up other items that are not lost leaders. Plus those people may decide to be faithful to GE and shop with or without coupons and sales.

If the loss leaders are not available then most people will get frustrated, not want a raincheck or do not know about rainchecks and leave. If this happens too often GE has upset their long term customers and potential long term customers.

I'm sure you already knew this and this is why you asked about stocking more product. I'm sure Giant Eagle has a set budget for all different promotions and as a result limits were needed at this time due to many reasons we may or may not see.

I have to go to GE tomorrow so I will find out if it is going to happen at our GE. It would have to be per order, there is no way they could do it per card because the registers don't recognize what product it is for like other stores do.

Oh no. I get all that. I guess I am tired of restrictions being put on couponers?? KWIM?? I am not a shelf clearer but I will get a large amount if they have a large stock of something or if it is the end of the sale. Otherwise, I just hit more than one store to get what I want.

I am fed up with WAGS and everyday different rules and one store only allowing one RR redeemed per transaction or only allowd to get one RR on the product per day. (and really I would only want a couple anyway but annoyed I have to keep coming back and I gave up) I am fed up that any time I get an IP for a free item I cannot find a store to take it. (I used to be able to go to Walmart but with the free Digiorno one from facebook I even had 3 walmarts turn me away) I am fed up with Target changing the rules as they see fit and the registers not taking all the coupons off or the correct amount of coupons so I guess this just made me feel like someone p*ssed in my cornflakes!!

I will of course do whatever GE asks me to do. I guess I read this info at the wrong time and with the wrong mood!

But tomorrow is a new day!

Ohhhh and the sales are for "mass" quantities(10/$10, 15/$10, 20/$10) but you can ONLY buy in mass quantities if you dont use to many coupons?

I asked the manager at the second store I was shown this "revised" CRP, about the 20/10 yogurts that are always on sale; "what if I want to buy 20 with 20 coupons"?(not that there is such a coupon, but if there was) She stated she couldn't allow that with the new rule, and I would need to buy 12 with the coupon and the other 8 without the coupon.

I know that GE adjusts the price for all things on sale and yes, I could buy just 12, but why limit the number of items being sold, just because of a coupon?

I bought 300 ORP's this sale, and there was ALWAYS plenty of stock left on the shelves after I took my packs. The bad part is, the EXP dates are the same when I bought 100 packs 2 months ago.

One of my two local stores only allows 4 like coupons per day, so this is actually an improvement for me! The other store had unlimited coupon acceptance.

If they're going to limit q's at GE (I asked at my store and they had no idea what I was talking about), 12 is actually a good number IMO. They could have gone to 3 (Shop and Save) or 2 (Foodland).

For most deals, 12 is a workable number. I have a Foodland near me (Buttermilk Hollow) that only doubles 1 like coupon….that's right 1. Each after that is at face value only…. eek.

I give to my parents, in laws, siblings, neighbors, friends, food banks, etc. I have a ridiculously large stockpile of my own that my visiting college daughter "shops" at, too. I've almost never used more than 10 like coupons in a transaction, and if I do want to buy more of a product, I'll make separate trips over the course of a week.

I like my stores. I don't want to be that whiny obnoxious person who buys a zillion of a product to profit from who ruins it for everyone else.

    12 is a decent number.

(Oh. I have to agree with Amy. Walgreen's does suck. I had a nightmare with a manager who wouldn't take a coupon with a barcode that began with "9". Twit. I love Rite Aid and CVS.) (And G.E.)

I very rarely use more than 10 at a time also and agree 100% with your post (cept for the Wags - my wags is wonderful!)
