QUESTION How do you decide when to use your food perks?

Good morning!

I have been behind the scenes for awhile. Thank you for all your help thus far! I am wondering how do you decide when to use your food perks. I am "scared" to use them b/c I think...what if next week is better! Now I have some that are going to expire at the end of the month. Obviously, I wont let them expire but I am afraid to use them!

Also, in Ohio can you use them on alcohol (I would love to stock up on beer for the Halloween party)?

Thanks for the help!

I have been debating about now or hold for some back to school snack sales. I decided to go with using them now since there are enough BOGO meat sales for me to stock the freezer a bit. I'll either go today after the mail ( waiting for coupons to arrive) or tomorrow morning.

The perks are not good towards alcohol.

I use mine when I get a big total.. and Don't save them to 20% unless you plan on spending $300..
I have used mine twice now since they came to my area..

We always wait til it gets to 20% because that's the max u can use. We then wait until we have a great sale week so that I can spend $300 and get the $60 off. I usually wait for that week to stock up expensive things that I buy all the time like dog food and laundry detergent. We walk around with a couple carts and I usually have a kid with a calculator. this way we always get out $60 off. Don't forget that there are things that can't be used on foodperks like milk.

Tobacco and alcohol are so heavily regulated (state and federal) that you should not even think of getting any kind of discount on them.

"Perish the thought."

As someone said just use when you have unusually big totals - even if you only have a few % accumulated, there is no mathematical advantage to waiting until you have 20% and then using/hoping for a big total (unless you foresee your biggest shopping trip of all happening at that time).

The same goes for fuelperks - as long as my tank is empty, I use it even if only 10 cents. I get the same sum total savings doing that each time vs. waiting for it to accumulate to a big discount and then using it on an empty tank all at once. And my philosophy is take the savings now rather than wait til later - you never know if you'll get hit by a bus.

I agree on the fuelperks! Use 10 cents 5 times or 50cents once it all comes out to the same savings. Another thing about fuelperks, watch the prices! For example I have 1 gng a mile away that is 2.69, and another gng 2 miles away @2.61. Also sometimes during the week they will drop and go back up. Get your gas on the drop.

it only comes out to the same savings if you fill up the same number of gallons. I can't hold more than 13 gallons, so I save my fuel perks until they're about to expire and grab all the gas cans! Max out my 30 gal everytime!

When do the FoodPerks even expire? I don't see that on my receipt...
