Rain checks during a sale!!!!!!!! Hi, all! I don't normally post, but I wasn't sure if everyone knew this or not. I didn't know until last week, but now I'm saving all my rain checks for the next sale, lol.
I went to GE to get the Folger's at 6.99 a can for my MIL. Before I left, my SIL gave me a rain check to use to make it 5.99 a can and wanted me to get 2 for her and 2 for my MIL. I had two of the $1/2 Folgers coupons, so not a great deal, but they needed the coffee. I got the 4 cans of Folgers and a few other things. I handed the cashier my GE card and told her that I had a rain check for the coffee. She rang everything up and it came to a little over $15, which didn't seem right considering the coffee should have cost $21.96, but I figured I would check it in the car. When I looked at the receipt, the coffee rang up at $23.96 for 4 cans, but then because my card was scanned, it took another $12 off the 4 cans. I went back into the store thinking they had really undercharged me for the coffee, but the manager informed me that even though I used a rain check, the computer was still programmed to take $3 off each can because of the sale and that they just let it run that way because of the inconvenience of getting the rain check.
This is what it would have looked like with the sale:
4 x 9.99=39.96
4 x 3.00 AC=12.00
2 x $1/2=2.00
Total=$25.96 for 4 cans
So this is what it should have looked like with the rain check or so I thought:
4 x 5.99 RC=23.96
2 x $1/2=2.00
Total=$21.96 for 4 cans
This is how it worked and should according to the manager:
4 x 5.99 RC=23.96
4 x 3.00 AC=12.00
2 x $1/2=2.00
Total=$9.96 for 4 cans or $2.49 a can!!!
I haven't seen a price like that on coffee for years!!!
If anyone is confused by any of this, please let me know. I feel like I was rambling, lol.
