What does the "sale vs shelf" mean?
I've done a few deals, and the cats don't print out...is it because I used coupons on the items? I was told once that the cats weren't woking that day...Does the advantage card in the ad mean I can or can't use q's to get the deal? (I've gone to customer service when I don't get a print out, and have gotten a gift card for the amt.) | Ok, all this talk about sale vs. shelf means essentially this. I'll use this week's Unilever cat deal for an example. The ad states that you will receive a $5 cat. when you buy $20 worth of select products. At Giant Eagle many of the products on sale will ring up like this:
Ragu 2.39
-1.14
For some reason the original price ($2.39 is recognized by the machine, not the sale price. So you can reach the $20 by only buying 9 Ragu which would put you at only 11.25 sale price, but $21.51 shelf. The register will then print out the $5 cat. since you reached the $20 mark.
Sometimes however as with the Breyers this week, the product will ring up at the sale price.
Breyers 3.33
Also, you can use coupons with a cat. deal, that should not prevent the catalina from printing. Once in awhile the cat. will not print for some reason, but that does not have anything to do with coupon use.
HTH!!!
