HI, I just started back to couponing and following sales. So does Giant Eagle usually have atleast one item that is free or close to it to stock up on? The other two stores in my area that double coupons don't seem to have as good of deals..
This was the first week I actually ordered coupons and went pretty well, i ordered the one wrong but could still use it and waiting on the veggie coupons so I can get my free veggies.
Does GE have a limit on the number of the same coupons you can use in one order?
Sorry for all the questions!!
I get free/cheap stuff every week at GE. We have Shop n Saves (several), Aldi's (2), Sam's, Walmart (I avoid), Foodland, SaveALot, Kuhns (3) within a very short driving distance from me. I used to AVOID GE but now since starting to coupon heavily in January I have been shopping more than 80% at GE. The major of the rest of my shopping is CVS and Walgreens. then I fill in with the other places.
The ones that double are Tops and I think sanders does. I also get a bunch of deals from walmart.
Hi Julz! We have a great group that posts the deals and almost every week there is something worth driving 30minutes to the store for me. I too used to avoid GE like the plague, but now it is my main grocery store. ;) Be sure to check out the brag thread in this forum.
As far as coupon limits go, it depends on your store. Several of us have no limits whatsoever and others have 4 like coupons and others have only limits on certain catalinas. If you share the GEs you might shop others can give you more details.
Ifound out tonight that my ge doesn't have a limit on like coupons. I got all 20 free veggies in one transaction, though I much have grabbed a wrong one cause I ended up having to pay 1.20. But didn't have the time or energy to go exchange. Lol.
Off topic - but I clicked on your pic to get a better view (I'm about blind as a bat lol) and I had to laugh when I saw the mugs and other stuff you can get with a picture on it.... My first thought was "How cool - you can get a mug with your stockpile of veggies on it!"![]()
And to keep it on topic - GE is by far my favorite store now - well, them and Rite Aid are pretty much at a tie. I've definitely been focusing more on food deals lately though and I can't believe the amount of food we have right now. It's crazy! I think I spend 20$ a week or so for a family of 5, on deals, and then maybe up to 30$ on every day stuff like milk, eggs, pop, meat, produce, DH's non-coupon food (). So like 50$ a week keeps us buried in food :-)
My store has no limits on doubling or like-coupons....or transactions I do at a time it seems. I never clear the shelves though unless there's only 1 or 2 things left. But yeah, GE is definitely a good stock-up store. We have one other grocery store chain in the area and I rarely go there. Walmart prices are actually high to me now and I do all my shopping at GE (except for the awesome martin's potato buns that GE doesnt carry - I can only find those at WM ....I think next time I see the grocery manager I'm going to ask if he can see about getting them in the store!)
