SMILE Can someone tell my husband...

12 rolls of paper towels, 24 rolls of TP, 10 bottles of shampoo, 12 bottles conditioner, 16 cans tomatoes, 6 boxes of spaghetti, 12 boxes cereal and the rest of my stockpile is not excessive
(He doesn't know that next week's addition will be 20 bottles of ketchup, 16 bags of OreIda, and more)

When my husband realized we'd never run out of ketchup again (an event which was catastrophic in my house) he finally quit complaining about my couponing! It helps to show him how much money you're saving too. I translated our grocery savings to paying off our vehicles faster, which was really motivating to my DH too. Keep couponing until he gets it!!

I think you need to go to some of the other sites, specifically SD, and walk him through the pictures in their stockpile thread, and then he will see that you aren't crazy at all!

Your best bet is to make some sort of agreement where you get a certain space to do whatever you want with. My GF and I are buying a house, and the deal is that I get one of the bedroom all to myself to do whatever deals I want (so now I wont have to keep hiding Glade candles in our bookcases!).

I hope your husband "gets it" someday. Mine...well, he just builds me more shelves when I run out of room!

I'll tell him!! lol

It didn't take my DH too long to figure it out - but I must say he has his own hobbies (like collecting 5billion hockey cards that have over run our bedroom!) so he doesn't complain much considering my 'hobby' saves us tons of $$$ and his costs us tons of $$$. So I figure we're even! lol

Tell him to close his eyes and think of England.

The money that you would have spent on paper towels and toilet paper next week, you are spending on ketchup and hash browns.

It's not that you are hording, you are shopping differently. You are buying all the items that your household consumes within a year when they are the best price.

It's the people that shop for the week that waste their money.

You can NEVER have enough paper products!

+

With no basement and the two car detached garage filled to the gills, I have resorted to putting non perishables inside 125 liter (pensez metric, 33 gallon) plastic garbage cans on the outdoor patio.

It is amazing how much one can can hold (something like 100+ Glade spray cans).

+

Bottom line ...

You can pay full price or you can pay a lot less when an item:

#1) Goes on sale.

- AND / OR -

#2) You have a money saving coupon to boot.

- AND / OR -

#3) If there is a rebate.

- AND / OR -

#4) Double FuelPerks.

- AND / OR -

#5) A Catalina coupon is printed.

I would be happy to right after u explain the 30 boxes of Cheez-its to mine. He said my plan is to make him sick of all the things he likes. I accomplished that with pizza rolls and cheesy pretzels LOL I told him pretty soon all he will like is meat & veggies lol Of course my DK's aren't complaining at all they love it!
