Giant Eagle ~ Other Birdseye Vegetable price change

I was at my store this morning and spoke with one of the workers in the frozen food department about them changing the price of the veggies this week. She was very upset about the change too (I guess a lot of people have been giving her a hard time about it). She said that she had called corporate and was told that the birdseye veggies will be on sale again in 2 weeks

but, the green giant were on sale this week. She suggested I call corporate to complain because they kinda blew her off.

So, I called corporate (412-963-6200) and complained about them changing the posted price. I am expecting a call back but, not expecting much (last time I complained about the fuze price being raised, they told me that I could come in to my local store and they would honor the price for ME - that doesn't really solve the problem IMO).

So, if anyone else wants to call and complain, it might stop them from doing this kind of thing again.

While I was on the phone, I also mentioned how much I hated the new yellow tags and ad. I also mentioned how disappointed I was that the steeler bucks only printed 1 per order no matter how many sets of 5 you bought. Went into detail about how much extra work it was for customer service to rescan items and how much extra work it was for the cashiers to ring up separate orders for us and how much I hated holding up the line. Apparently, they are working on the steeler buck issue (I know this doesn't affect Ohio, MD or WV stores but, figured it couldn't hurt to mention that too

)

Thanks for letting us know about the sale again in two weeks. Yesterday I sent them an email and complained about the exact same thing. I had ten extra coupons and didn't want to take all the corn that was left and I didn't want to bother with separate transacations. I thought I would wait until my next trip. Had I known they were going to arbitrarily change the date on the sale I would have bought them then.

I'll let you know what they say.

Fagan (sp) just called me back. Said that it was scheduled for two weeks (the previous sale) but, a new pricing kicked it out of the system. He said they will be on sale starting this Thursday for 10/$10. He apologized profusely. I got the impression that my complaint wasn't the only one. Since the birdseye are also generating steeler bucks, I'm sure more people noticed the price change.

Not sure if we'll have them both times (Thursday and in 2 weeks) but, I'm not going to take any chances LOL. I just got 60 more q's in the mail today so I'll be buying them early and often LOL

I got a response today but for some reason the email came from the Center Store Group Leader at my local store. I don't even recall referencing my store in my email to corporate. He apologized and said if I asked for one of the managers they would honor that $1 price. They're not getting it. That's not the point. This has happened before and I want to be able to rely on their tags. I sent him an email back telling him the change was made at all the stores not just mine and thanked him for the offer to honor the price.

Has anyone seen any of the .50 off coupons lately? I've looked at four clipping sites and Ebay and can't find any more.
