Expired Giant Eagle and Dress for Success Cleaners: Klothes for Kids Drive

Not sure if everyone's store is sponsoring it, but the three closest to me are.

The Dress for Success Cleaners in the Giant Eagle stores are collecting New clothes as well as gently worn sweaters and coats for the Klothes for Kids program which benefits local children w/o financial means to have decent school clothes. All sweaters and coats donated will be cleaned free of charge by Dress for Success before they are handed out to those in need.

I asked the other day about what sizes they are looking for and apparently they are looking for all sizes, including 'adult' sizes. They are targeting ages 6-16. I was able to donate 4 garbage bags full tonight. I only sent items in a condition that I would buy again resale or that were brand new (yes, I had almost a full garbage bag of new w/ tags...darn shopping habits!) I just wanted to bring this up for anyone who may be able to help out as well and let you know I was informed the program runs until Aug. 31st, not the 19th like some stores had posted - but please check with your store before hauling in donations just to be sure! I am a huge fan of helping out children in particular because they don't always have a say in their situation and IMO need the most help!

Default Re: Giant Eagle and Dress for Success Cleaners: Klothes for Kids Drive

This is a great reminder Jen. We just donated a ton to our church who holds a BTS .25 sale to try and clothe our community. It's a great project that helps people in the community get their children some nice school clothes at a ridiculously good price!
