Giant Eagle: Possible Bad news for some of us

I just got a text message from my BIL who is a manager at my GE. He said there is serious talk of ALL GE's limiting coupon usage. He doesn't know any specifics yet... like if it is per transaction, per day, etc. I will updates as soon as I hear anything.

If they start to limit I guess shopping will become a family affair. Each of my kids and DH with our own buggies and coupons. LOL....

hmmmm guess I will have to get my moms and sisters cards. My son and daughter already have cards so I use there too

Trust me... I got his ears opened for anything that has to do with limited coupons.. He will let me know the minute he knows anything at all. I will get advantage cards for all three of my dogs if need be.

No matter what they do there is a way around it.. It just sucks that they want to be such a pain in the ass about it...

I think Walmart has a limit of 40 coupons and when that is exceeded they have to get a manager's approval. Something like that isn't to bad, but I'm afraid they are going to make a limit like 10 coupons per day or something.

If that happens, the whole family is going in the store with me, and we will split up our orders!!! :smile77:

Yep that will be my plan.. I don't think they will limit the actual number of coupons but I think if anything they will follow suit like other GE's and limit the number of like coupons per transaction. But I figure if I have to take my kids with me I can still do 3 transactions per day. Or I can take the kids and travel to cranberry area and Hit seven fields GE, cranberry GE, and my local GE in the same day. That would be 9 transactions total for the day.

Next time I am over at GE I will ask too. I know the manager at our store hates when they try and limit things b/c he sais the customer will just find a way around it and he is right. He would rather keep a customer happy then tell them they can't do something knowing they are going to just turn around and find a way to do it. This issue came up over my candles. There is one woman there that for whatever reason does not like me at all. She will put expiration dates and limits on my rainchecks and everyone else doesn't. So she of course had an issue with my candles since my rain check was for 100. The manager told her..if a person wants 96 boxes of cherrios during a sale..they can have them. Unless Corp. GE puts a limit on it..who are we to? She called me yesterday to tell me that my velveeta cups are in and i cringed at the thought of me going in there while she was working. I have to wait for my Q's anyways so hopefully she wont be there. She gave me so much trouble over the baby sale stuff that I snapped at her. (i will blame the pregnancy heehee) There is nothing that makes me more mad then when employees have NO IDEA how these deals and such work. I have heard EVERY excuse to why something doesn't work.The very first thing is always..."well it's because you used coupons" That is why I snapped at her.. I am so sick of that it's not even funny. Why can't they say "hmmm well I am not really sure why it didn't work, lets figure it out" instead of jumping right to conclusions that they don't even know what they are talking about.
I don't even deal with her or anyone else but the 2 managers I am close to. Its a serious waste of my breath.
Well now that this turned into a rant... lol hopefully they wont do this to us!

At the Austintown Ohio G.E. they stopped taking any internet coupons that give you a free product.They won't even take a B1G1 free or Buy this get that free internet coupons.They never use to be this strict before.:sad:

I wonder if it has to do with cash flow and also wanting to limit stock, yet let "everyone have an opportunity to buy the sale items". I waffle back and forth on my opinion about why they might be limiting knowing such a small percentage use coupons like we do, but the economy is not what it used to be either.
