Yes, but to me I consider it all the same! You have to drive on very busy and crazy parkways and highways to get there. I will go straight up 79 but am scared to death of driving anywhere near Pittsburgh!

lol - I'm not laughing at you - I'm just laughing because I hate - I mean HATE - driving over bridges and through tunnels and on highways (think I need to find a new place to live ) so I can relate!

Which area did you live in? I can find you a back road - I've mastered the art of back roads!

Thank you! I think I will try to organize a visit to my mom for this weekend so I can go to this, especially since she hates crowds and will undoubtedly be happy to watch her darling grandchildren while hubby and I go.



Where is the NEW Monroeville Convention Center - at the Radisson by the Mall or did they remodel the Expo Center or somewhere else?

Edited to add - if it's somewhere on 22 business you can definitely get there without driving on the parkway. I lived in Pgh almost all my life and I drove for years in fear of the Parkway East, but I went to Monroeville all the time. We can help you here or you can also try Mapquest from your house to there and click avoid highways - that helps.

Yay!! I hate hate hate driving in traffic too - but the Monroeville deal was sooo easy. I have to come on the turnpike, and then just down route 22 a bit though. I made it there and back with no major panic attacks - other than when I forgot which lane I had to get in for turnpike lane on the way home and had to do a turn around LOL But I managed to find a parking lot with a traffic light, so I didn't have to cross or merge into route 22 traffic. Hehe - I used to drive all the time down in Pittsburgh and never think twice - now I have the hardest time with traffic!

Anyways - I'll most likely be there so long as nothing major comes up - my kids had a blast and so did I - and it was soooo nice meeting other HCWers :-) Isaac still loves his Eat'n'Park smiley face cookie plush keychain thing LOL

Bridges really scare me too. I live in Washington and am not at all familiar with any of the roads in and around Pittsburgh. I mean, I could not find my way to the science center or any of the stadiums. I have no clue!

It's an expo - there are demos of products, cooking shows, samples, samples, samples, did I mention samples? Most of the samples were full-size. I left @ 1 hr before they closed last time and missed out on a lot of the stuff they were giving away (but, I still had a trunk full LOL)
