Default Doubling "Do not double or triple" IP

Does your store do this? I'm new to this couponing thing and the last time I shopped at GE, the clerk doubled the IP coupons. I noticed that they said "do not double or triple" on them but she did it anyway. Was this a mistake on her part or is this normal?

They automatically double if scanned, so they would have to manually enter it in to make sure it didn't double... but I have never had a cashier do that.

I had two cashiers (one was a teenage boy!) at the same store in McMurray, PA manually enter IP's so they would not double. Thank goodness most of my IP's were $1 so they wouldn't double anyway. I will remember NEVER to take < $1 IP's to this store anymore. Or I will be sure to use the SCO's. Be warned! The other GE I go to never worries about them.

DH watched a non-coupon-friendly cashier ring the coupons I gave him. He said she hit the "no-sale" button before scanning each coupon that said "do not double" to keep it from doubling.

If the coupon UPC starts with a 5 the registers will most likely automatically double is scanned. Coupons that start with a 9 will not double.

At my latest trip, I went through the self-checkout b/c all the other lines were too long. All my coupons doubled automatically. The only downside to shopping was that I had trouble scanning a couple of my coupons and one of the employees came over to help. He kept looking at me like I was trying to cheat them or something since I had a coupon for nearly every item in my buggy.
