Default Question about GE deals like 4/$10

Do you have to buy 4 to get the $2.50 per item price? I know at WM, if something says 4/$10, you can buy 2 and they're still only $2.50 a piece, but wasn't sure if it worked that way at GE too. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm just trying to figure all this out and I checked the FAQ and didn't find it there.
Thanks for any help!

Generally speaking, yes. Also, normally each item for BOGO deals rings up half price. That excludes meat, and in the ad it will say something to the effect of "must purchase 2".

The only store I know of that has tiered pricing is Walgreens (3.00 each, or 4 for 10.00). In my experience with GE, if something is advertised for 4/10, they are 2.50 each, not tiered pricing. BOGO is rung in at 1/2 the regular price for each item. HTH!

That is the way I have observed it.

Walgreens ...

That tiered pricing should be illegal.

In big print is the price for more than one (2 / $2.50) and in much smaller print is another price if you only purchase one.

+

Anyone with a calculator can tell you that $2.50 / 2 = $1.25 each (and not $1.50 each).

+

Speaking of tiered pricing ....

Any store with a loyality card (like Giant Eagle and CVS) does it.

They advertise merchandise with attractive prices that are only available with a loyality card.

I see it soooo often that a customer does not have a card and they end up paying full price.
