LOL - I was gonna switch to Kraft Mac & Cheese at Walmart for the rest of my free Kraft q's but, now that I have a recipe for sno-cone syrup using koolaid packets, I may get some more LOL.

We have a slushee machine and it uses sno-cone syrup and I can never find any at the stores between September and May.

Ooh...will you share it? I would love not to have to buy that stuff anymore.

allen at another site posted it:

2 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid, any flavor

Place the sugar and water in a medium pan and bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and stir in the Kool-Aid. Cool to room temperature, then place in the refrigerator until chilled. Pour over crushed iced.

I'm going to try it using the splenda packets

it's the neatest thing. Pour syrup to the line, then water to the next line and finally ice to the final line.

Amazon.com: Back to Basics SITSELP Slushie Express: Home & Garden

They only make 1 at a time so I make one, pour into a 20 oz cup, rinse & repeat. I make mine for teenage boys so 1 slushie would be perfect for 2 or 3 little ones. It doesn't take up much room and is really easy to clean. I bought mine at Walmart for about 19.99 last summer. You might be able to catch one on clearance now that summer is over too

Target had some slushie/snow cone machines on clearance. I'm thinking of running up today and seeing if they have any left. I almost grabbed one last week, but figured I usually use my magic bullet to make fruit smoothies....I didn't think of using kool-aid for a snow cone topping! I'm really craving some snow cones now! LOL

I almost fell over yesterday at GE when I saw that the canisters of crystal light were not $5.49 each (up from the $3.50 we weren't paying before). I have one crystal light q left and I plan on using it at Walmart - they have to be cheaper. The little canisters are still under $4 but I feel like I'll be wasting that coupon if I get the 4 pack LOL.

Neeky - the slushie machine is great! The cup that you use has lines on it - you fill up to the 1st line with the syrup, the 2nd line with water and the third line with ice. The regular syrups make a more liquidy drink - similar to the Dairy Q misty and the sugar free makes a slushie that you can eat with a spoon.

We're not big snow cone eaters
