I took all 3 of mine to Ingles to do the triple coupons this week. My middle one, who just turned 4, was really excited and told the cashier that "Mommy likes free stuff" and she kept asking me what was free. LOL
I am teaching her early.

My mistakes have been NOT DOING THIS 15 or 20 years AGO. The money I could have saved on food, HBA, etc, would fund college for my kids. Sheesh, glad I found HCW and am staying inspired! You all are wonderful and fun too. :)

I have a feeling that will be my mistake too. I wish I had known about the magic of coupons a while ago. I have cut coupons for a few years now but I never really use most of them and then they expire.

Hello all,

I've recently started couponing and during my first few purchases I didn't calculate my oop before going to the register.

I allowed cashier or customers to fluster me.

Also my worst offense:

I thought that if I purchase 4 of the same product, I could only use one coupon.

Hello MJ,

I too wish I'd known about couponing some time ago. Like you, my coupons expire.

I only have enough to fit into a small purse but I hope to one day have an organizer. I'm actually surprised my Mum who is sooo great with money didn't do this when we were younger.

I've only started this about 2 months though, just after I had my baby.

my biggest mistake was taking my Hubby along with me to the stores....I now leave him at home and go alone.

Other than that, I bought way too many cans of shaving cream for men, only because it was on clearance for .25 cents

That is biggest mistake, taking my BF with me- I swear it is worse than bringing a child- He doesn't have the patience to find the correct size for the coupon or whatever- Whenever he shops with me, the budget flies right out the window.....

I agree with those who don't take their DH/BF with them. Mine does not have the patience either. He appreciates all that I save (though I have to admit I hid some of my dozens of boxes of pasta!) I have often said that when he shops with me, we spend about twice what I would have spent. We might have some cool stuff, but we end up paying full price, and I HATE that.

Wow! The same exact thing happened to me and what made it worst is that I combined this with the Colgate ECB for 2.77 which ended up being a glitch ringing up for 3.19.

The line filled up with customers and one lady tried to "out" me but I told her about herself really quickly.

My biggest mistake is telling my husband that razors are on sale. (He goes through them quickly). He then wants one, but I let him know real quick he doesn't get one without a coupon and for $2 or less. On occassion I'll give in just so he doesn't feel left out. (And I can keep getting the good deals without him griping.)

Also, giving in to the little one wanting candy at checkout. Makes my OOP go up. (except for when it's a filler)
