What sort of Mistakes have you made since couponing?

Mine was throwing out coupons. I would only clip coupons for products I thought we would use. Then the item turns out to be a moneymaker somewhere, and I kick myself. Now I save them all, even if I don't clip them all.

I just made a big mistake yestarday. I went to CVS since I had a 4.00/20.00 for updated my email, 3.00/15.00. Well I walked around and got things we needed that I had coupons for ie makeup, vitimans. trying to get my total to 20.00. I had pills to pick up will my copay went up. I had been figuring them into my total as 5.00 but they were 12.50.

I could have just picked up about three things and been out of there in no time, instead I went up most of the aisles looking at items and thier prices and searching my binder. I saved but could have done ALOT better.

Now I know my BC pills have gone up. Lesson learned.

This was ALMOST a huge mistake. 20 years ago I used to buy lavender potpourri and like all good things it was eventually discontinued. I tracked down the wholesaler in NYC (yes, I really loved this stuff) and they agreed to sell it to me if I purchased 100 lbs for $1.00/lb. They retailed for about $3/2oz package so this was a steal!

4 hrs later when the math sunk in...WAIT THAT'S 800 PACKAGES! It would probably arrive by semi-truck! I quickly called and cancelled the order.

I easily could have been on cloud 9 until the order arrived. Thank God something made me stop and think!

I have made the mistake of forgetting to have the coupons with me with i go shopping.

I used to think that couponing saved me money but I would buy just cause it was a great deal with a sale and coupon. That was wasteful,

I used to run all over everywhere chasing down every deal posted. But realized what savings is that, it is wasteful for my time and gas. I could be folding laundry or painting my front door, but I was choosing to drive all over in search of glucose monitors, free glade candles, and other junk that I just do not need. I make it a rule that if I go to CVS I must come home with milk or paper towls or at least 2 things that we need!!

The only real thing I can remember doing...Just because I have not been doing this for long...is I did not print a the coupons...I printed off the page that had what kind of coupons you could get....then took them to walmart...bought the 10/10 on Kelloggs's snacks...with $1 off coupons for each box... that would mean they would be FREE ..Nope...did not have the right coupons...I was so embarrassed

I constantly forget to give coupons to the cashier (not all of them just one or two) but I do it all the time! I hate having to go back into a store when I just came out.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I often forgotten to hand over some of my coupons at the register. And later at home, I discover my forgotten coupons. Then I promptly start kicking myself and nashing my teeth over my pricey forgetfulness!
