Default Re: Does anyone else get flak from their husbands??

My husband is happy that I am saving money but doesnt like me to buy things we wont use....such as the Soy Joy bars or the monitors. But, to me, if it's a money maker or I can extend my bucks for another month then, I'm going to do it. He just dont want the house cluttered up with stuff we dont need. I'm a stay at home mom so I love CVS, it gets me out of the house and I can still shop without spending a ton of money. I just wish he would get a little more excited when I show him my stash or talk about my deals.

I'm with gamomto2boys, I think deep down my husband is happy that I save the money I do or stockpile stuff but he turns it around when he is upset about something and says that all I do is coupons. He is happy as long as he doesn't have to hear about it 24/7.

My husband was the same way with the monitors at first. Then he had a friend at work who mentioned he'd been diagnosed with Diabetes. My husband asked if he wanted a monitor and the guy said "sure". So far my DH has passed out 4 at work, and one to his brother for a friend. He no longer complains. He just figures we'll donate them somewhere. The Soy Joys I gave to people I know who are runners and into all the health food stuff.
I think the biggest thing for my DH is that he started to recieve stuff from CVS (a DVD player for Christmas for example) that I paid no oop for. He'll be getting a computer chair this weekend too.

My DH is pretty supportive because he knows I enjoy it, but I don't think he really gets the value of it quite yet. He likes to tease me, but he gets a little thrill too when I give him a coupon for something that's on sale and then he sees how cheap it ends up being. I can see it in his eyes!!!

I had a particulary good day on Monday, I came home and laid EVERYTHING on the kitchen table and said guess how much all this cost, he guessed "$150?, $175?" Kept guessing higher! LOL!!! Then I said $12.77 and now he is on board!

My husband didn't get it until I took him on a shopping trip with me. When he saw the original total, then the total after coupons, he was amazed! He has been encouraging ever since then.

Hey... How do you get your Wife on Board??

I just got into couponing, and was estatic to save 6.00 off of our grocery bill today. My bride thinks it's a waste of time, but I beg to differ. Next week I'm shooting to save $10.00. It's quite addicting once you start, and there's nothing like getting FREE items. Woo Hoo!

Now I just need to come up with a way of organizing my coupons so I'm not fumbling through a huge pile while I shop!
