Rapunzel is on a distinguished road
Default How much time do you spend couponing?

do you all spend couponing? The reason I ask is that it took me all day yesterday to clip & organize my coupons & shopping lists. Surely I'll get faster?

Fortunately my SO was busy with football Maybe it's no coincidence that the sale ads & flyers come out on Sundays?

I spent 28 hours shopping at Shaw's alone last week.

I usually spend at least 25 hours per week at this coupon hobby.

actually clipping coupons maybe 1 hour (I only clip what I need, leave the rest intact) shopping is maybe 8 hours or so a week for me (unless CVS has a hot deal), and my list isn't too much time cause I buy everything that I can get for free (or close to it) and then 'necessities'

Default Re: How Much Time...

Let's see...

I spend 1 hour each Sun. night going through my building (40 floors) to find discarded inserts.

I don't spend much time organizing everything - I just put it into a box.

I often waste several minutes dealing with incompetent cashiers and managers.

I often waste several minutes on the phone with corporate complaining about incompetent cashiers and managers.

I usually spend a good 10 minutes or so in a chair by the pharmacy at CVS doing calculations and sorting out the coupons I'll be using and the order in which I'll be giving them.

I invest a good amount of time on this site.

I'm afraid to actually add up the time. It becomes a way of life.

I don't want to add it up--though it would be interesting to figure what I am being "paid" per hour. Hmm....

But there is more than just money. I swear I got high last night on the thought of unlimited free toothpaste. Sick.

not including time spent on here working or just "farting" around. 12-14 hours a week

Default Re: How Much Time...

I enjoy spending Sunday afternoons clipping coupons and watching football with DH. We usually go out for a late breakfast on Sunday mornings and then make a big Sunday dinner. It's nice being able to relax with him and taking little breaks from the coupons to prepare something at a certain time or to check on something in the oven. I am meticulous with my edges so it takes me longer than others. Making a grocery list and matching coupons usually only takes a half hour or so. I piddle around on the site a lot also because I don't work outside the home and don't have any little ones to look after.

I will say the longer you've been doing it, and the better organized you get, the less time you will spend with the clipping, sorting, organizing, list making and coupon retrieving. Hopefully it's something you enjoy!
